The original building was built several hundred years ago as a monastery. It was converted to a hotel several years ago and Sonesta has added several more building for rooms, but, has preserved the look of the old monastery. The grounds are gorgeous with flowers and trees in abundance. The restaurant was good with hearty meals and friendly service. It was a very pleasant place to come back to after a day of touring and just sit back and relax.
Wonderful experience! This hotel is set among the Andes, close to the Sacred Valley, with spectacular grounds that are very well manicured. The hotel lobby has a large, open look, with a fire place in the center, and a hidden bar downstairs with a nice little nook to relax in. The grounds offer hammocks, a fenced-in llama feeding area, planetarium, spa, and more. The rooms have majestic views and are both comfortable and very clean. The hotel immediately puts you in a peaceful, relaxed...
The dome was beautiful, clean, comfortable with amazing views! Fit our family well! Also amazing experience with visiting llamas and alpacas. Breakfast, and all other meals there were amazing! Staff were friendly and very helpful!
I highly recommend this hotel as a place to stay after trekking or touring the Maras salt mines, the Sacred Valley, or Machu Picchu. We stayed here after our four-day trek on the Inca Trail. The staff were friendly and very accomodating, the property is beautiful, the beds are very comfy, the water pressure is amazing, the hot tub experience was divine, the views are spectacular, and the food was wonderful. It was a special treat to eat at the tasty breakfast buffet in the morning, watch the...
This hotel surpassed our expectation! We had previously stayed at the Tambo del Inka and this property was much better. Tambo del Inka is VERY touristy and Taypikala provides a much more authentic luxury experience. Very quiet, exceptional food and great service. I would love to have spent a whole week there!
Hotel Lizzy Wasi sits behind a nondescript wall in a skinny alleyway in Urubamba, but once you walk through the door, a whole new world opens up. Gorgeous gardens and the smell of fragrant jasmine await you. Run by US expat Lizzy, Hotel Lizzy Wasi was the perfect place for our family.
Our stay here was a last-minute decision because of a flight delay, and we couldn't have been more pleased. We arrived at 9:30 at night from Cusco, our nerves frazzled from a miserable 24 hours of travel delays...
The staff were very helpful and the rooms are nicely done. The hotel is around 15 minutes away from Urubamba. At the same time, It was relaxing and will definitely stay at this hotel on my next trip.
My girlfriend and I were breath-taken at this beautiful place, the architecture and hospitality was amazing. The front desk and staff are the sweetest and always there to help you in any need. What shocked me the most was the chef! We’ve tried every single dinner dish and all i can say is WOW! We loved every night staying here. Very peaceful and relaxing, this is a highly RECOMMENDED location. Thank you!
Such a nice oasis in the Sacred Valley! The whole hotel is beautiful and the staff are wonderful (especially Victor at the front desk). They arranged taxi rides for us to the train station for our adventure to Machu Picchu and to Cusco. The rooms are super comfortable, the menu of food is absolutely delicious and the grounds are gorgeous!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. They really made us feel at home. We stayed there both before and after visiting Machu Picchu. The rooms were clean each time. We enjoyed the breakfast, grassy field and the swinging benches. They let us keep most our bags there while we were gone to Machu Picchu, which was very helpful. Great place to stay!
This intimate hotel was just the ticket for this town. Beautifully manicured courtyard, free parking and rooms made for families. As of October 2024, the bridge through the center of town is out, but it looks like it will be restored soon. We received excellent customer service from the staff, especially Alex. They took a genuine interest in ensuring our time in the Inka sacred valley was pleasant and that we got the most out of our brief time there.
The hotel is ok, perfect location! The best of this hotel is the excellent service provided by the owner and family. They are amazingly nice and friendly.
This is a great hotel tucked in the upper heart of Ollantaytaytambo. Traditional stone building with communal rooftop terrace that has breathtaking mountain and ruin views. The main woman who runs it makes you feel at home with her warmth and great restaurant recommendations (picolos for the traditional pizza). The room has a nice bathroom, clean comfortable beds, directv and decent WiFi. Definitely worth the price for staying close to macchu picchu train station in an impressive town of its...
This hotel may be the farthest from the Plaza and ruins, but you can walk through the entire Ollantaytambo main city in less than 10 minutes. This hotel is picturesque. Stayed one night. We booked the room with one full bed and two twin beds. Large bathroom. Breakfast starts at 5 am, but our train to Machu Picchu was at 5 am. They packed each of us a bag of food and met us at 4:45 am to provide us this free snack for our trip. They stored our suitcases for the 2 full days that we were in...

This is a very quaint hotel in the heart of the small town of ollantaytambo. Check in was good. Room is adequate and the bathroom is great. Great shower and water pressure. We had a great view. It has lots of sitting areas that are quaint and comfortable.
We were told breakfast was until 9:00am. We thought we would skip it since we hiked a lot the day before. At 9:05 we were called letting us know that they were waiting for us to serve us breakfast. It was a full service as if we were at a...
Cute Peruvian hotel close to town - walkable to a mini market and restaurants. We would stand outside the hotel and flag down a motortaxi if we wanted to go further. They would charge us $5-8 sol ( about $1.75-$2.75 us ) to go into the town square or to the train station . The town square is really cute. The beds were comfy and the worker will give you a heater for your room if you’re cold ( we went in winter) . They stored our roll on bags while we went to Agues Calientes (Machu Picchu)...
