No wonder my friend said we had to stay at the Shiroyama on learning we are going to Kagoshima. The hotel is like the Tokyo Imperial Hotel and more transported to this location on top of a hill, facing the Sakurajima volcano, which one can stare at while bathing in the open air mineral waters at the onsen/spa.
There are many different restaurants inside this enormous place so we dined in for the 2 nights. There is a shuttle service to the downtown area to while the daytime hours, which also...

Love the location of the hotel which connects directly to Kagoshima Chuo station. The room was spacious for large luggages. The self-serve luggage storage before check in and check out was a breeze. We didn't even need to interact with a staff. This hotel offers great value for the ones who need the convenience and the comfort to make a great travel experience.
Excellent location and easy to walk to Kagoshima Chuo Station and other areas of interest. Very close to airport shuttle bus stop - about a 5 minute walk. Walk to major shopping district and restaurants galore. Very nice hotel staff and great breakfast - only wish they offered fresh fruit with breakfast. The single rooms are super small by American standards. The bathroom feels like you’re in a RV. The room has everything one needs, even a multi charging station for your electronic devices.
Very well located. Very friendly staff and helpful. Hotel is located in the heart of Kagoshima with parking facilities at 1000 yen per night. Japanese and Western buffet breakfast with good choice of food.
A nice clean and comfortable room in a residential area of Kagoshima. Less than a mile from many amenities, including the train station. Would stay here again.
