Close to Istanbul airport 15 mins away - taxi $8-9. There is Metro station but keep in mind its far from center. Nice local restaurant Durumcu Musa Usta and amazing local people!!!

Arnavutkoy is great for transit and I think the more international travelers use this town to stay between flights, it will develop faster and be a great place to stay :)

Plenty of restaurants 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel. Some vacant lots and trash take away from the neighborhood, but it felt safe.

"A taste of old world Istanbul! Pera Palace does not disappoint. From the moment we arrived we were greeted courteously by all staff. They went out of their way to be accommodating. The property is gorgeous, truly a jewel in the New District. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast buffet. "The room was very comfortable and clean. The area was quiet. However, this hotel was a lot further from the airport than stated. The distance from the airport needs to be verified. It was a 15 minute ride. I paid 40 euros round trip. I think that this was too much. I do not understand why this did not include the driver's tip. Also, tipping is expected but the amount is not clearly specified. The Turkish tourism industry needs to explain this to travelers. I tipped the driver but he would not accept my tip because it was too little. I had clearly insulted him. Which made me feel awful. The whole tipping culture is too much and makes me not want to return to Turkey."
