Ankara is applauded for its museums with enlightening attractions such as Museum of Anatolian Civilizations and Anitkabir Ataturk Museum. Visitors to this historical city speak highly of the cafes whereas sights include Hamamonu Historic Area and Haci Bayram Mosque.
Although it's main problem is that it is the administrative capital of Turkey, so doesn't have the glamour or tourist attractions of Istanbul, it has a pleasant climate and easy-going atmosphere, much less hectic than Istanbul.

Must see the old town and all that it offers, specifically the excellent Anadolu Medeniyetleri Múzesi. Literally had goosebumps seeing some of the pieces of their collection!

The hotel is conveniently located for walking tours to some of the most famous landmarks, such as Ankara Kale, the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, and the Atatúrk Museum. Ankara is also a great destination for exploring local cuisine.

I love to be in Ankara. People were very welcome. If we were confused everyone were trying to help. Very good food. A lot of restaurants . Only thing we don't like is sidewalks. Its was hard to walk for older people.

I lived in Ankara as a child, so I kept on looking for things I knew as a kid. The Ankara Castle (Kale-Pronounced kha-le) is a good historic area and the archeological museums are great.

It is not the most engaging of cities, but has some worthwhile attractions and it location in the heart of Anatolia, with transport connections everywhere, is hard to beat.

Ankara is a good city to visit if you are intending to travel both domestic or internationally. Generally a quiet city despite being the capital. Many universities present. Nice stop over during travels.
"Divan is a very well known and top-notched hotel chain in Turkey that stood the test of time. we had stayed at this hotel in 2023 and had been extremely satisfied In 2025 we initially booked Divan Hotel for one week while my 80 year-old parents were going through regular health check ups in nearby private hospitals, which led to two important emergency operations. We eventually extended our stays to 19 days and booked one more room for my kids. Staff was extremely kind, attentive, and helpful. They went above and beyond to make our stay very comfortable during this difficult time. The peaceful atmosphere of the hotel, truly amazing food (kudos to the chef), cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, very well functional g AC ( which is not a given for hotels below five stars in Turkey), and amenities like a great gym and spa provided a refuge to the whole family while we tried to cope with serious health challenges. Most of the time we ate at the hotel to ensure the quality and the hygiene of our meals. Their breakfast buffet is truly exceptional, I highly recommend the breakfast included option for your stay, it is worth it.we were very pleased with the options provided in the menu for other meals, which include traditional Turkish dishes with a hint of creativity from our chef. The bottom line is that I would highly recommend divan Hotel. Enjoy your stay. "
