Carmel is beautiful, but very expensive. You can tell it is a well taken care of town, but stores and restaurants close early, or are not open at all during the week. Very cute to just walk around and admire the houses, and the beach is lovely.

Carmel is a beautiful safe place to stay. The beach was within a short walk, although down a steep hill. The beach is pretty clean and the shops nearby are very cute and have lots of cool things in them.

"Our room was large and comfortable. On- site parking was a plus. Breakfast was adequate but not great. The place was very clean and the grounds were well maintained. "
"La Playa's location is great--close to the beach and can walk to Carmel's shopping area. The hotel's garden/outdoor area is gorgeous and the breakfast is fantastic!"
"The property was war, inviting and so beautiful with its flowers and exquisite care for the buildings and gardens. It was a spotless comfortable room, gracious host at breakfast and friendly and attentive front desk. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to be in the center of the adorable downtown of Carmel."
