Kahului is certainly not a resort area, but it's local, peaceful,and relaxing. If we return to Maui, I will go back to the Maui Seaside Hotel, but I'll pay the extra for a poolside room. It will be well worth it.

Huge disparity between wealthy and not-so-wealthy on Maui. It's a beautiful area, but also a little disturbing.
"We had a clean, spacious king bed room right off the interior courtyard. Reserving a ground level room really enhanced our access to the pool and beach and our overall experience. Daily room cleaning was a little inconsistent and is really needed given the amount of towels we used and sand we brought in each day from outdoor activities. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly and although the space was not exceptional, it was very clean, convenient, and satisfactory."
