What I didn't like was the elevators, because when you press the button to go up to the 10th floor, it stopped on every floor, except yours. It would go back down to the lobby. We walked back along the river, but it was way too dark and didn't seem safe for an all-female group. "From check-in to check-out, the staff were friendly and accomodating. Stayed for three nights. I found the bed to be uncomfortable after the first night and the room wasn't cooling like it should. I was immediately relocated to another room where the bed was more suitable and the temperature was much better. The Menger is an old hotel and as such some things like water pressure, water temperature, and cooling may be affected. However, the hotel staff did go out of their way to ensure I had a pleasant stay - and I absolutely did! The convenience of a short walk to the Alamo and the Riverwalk brings entertainment, dining, and shopping to the point where a car wasn't needed. Information services is inside the hotel where you can book the trolley, the river cruise, and other available services. When we decide to go back to San Antonio, this is the hotel that I would love to stay at once again. "
