Newport is a great little coastal town. Great restaurants and pubs. Bay front is cool, with touristy type stores and such. Nothing fancy about Newport-great food and beautiful beaches (Nye)

Newport has more of a commercial, working wharf area than we expected. It's fine, just a little run down with many places closed for the season or under renovation. We'd been told it was like a mini San Francisco but it's definitely not. All ok tho.

We revisited the Hatfield Marine Science Center and the Oregon Coast Aquarium which are very cool. Also visited the lighthouse near the bridge. Found some excellent Chinese food at Lee's Wok.

We enjoyed going to Femme Fatale & Bohemian Candle on Bay Blvd close to the sea lions.
"Staying at the Allred Hotel was an incredible experience. I have been staying at the Oregon coast for 20 years and this was an exceptional experience. The hotel is very well laid out and is decorated wonderfully. The food at the restaurant was exceptional and the service excellent. We will be staying again. A special note to all the staff who were friendly and accommodating. Thank you!"
