Cobblestone streets lead past colorful colonial buildings to the iconic Arco de Santa Catalina, framing distant volcanoes. Climb Cerro de la Cruz for sweeping city views, then explore bustling markets and ornate churches before savoring local cuisine.
I couldn't get enough of this amazing colonial town. Beautiful, safe, peaceful with so many restaurant options and great hotels. Pick and choose the experience you want to have, close to Guatemala city and with so many additional tour options.

Antigua is such a beautiful city with a lot of culture. We enjoyed walking around the city, shopping, and grabbing food and drinks throughout the day. It was also very affordable! The people were kind and we would love to go back someday soon!

It doesn't matter what street you walk on there will be something interesting a cafe, a store, a museum, an old house or a ruin to see. Food is easy to find and the main square is always beautiful. To much to see so little time.

Antigua is literally the best city I visited in Guatemala. I love the way it looks, the local people are soooooo friendly and warm, the surrounding with the volcanoes is mind blowing. I had the best time there !

A perfect base for an Acetenango volcano tour, and seemingly slow pace of life and the local culture, but the cobbled streets and poor paving might be problematic for people with walking difficulties.

I really loved Antigua Guatemala. Even though it has that old colonial look, everything is very modern in the inside. The restaurants are exceptional and service everywhere is amazing.

The city is charming and if you want to study Spanish there are immersive classes at the Antiguena Spanish school where they offer one to one tuition at reasonable prices.

Antigua is such a great (underrated) city! Great sights, shops and plenty to do for everyone. The streets are however not stroller friendly, we carried our toddler.

I spent a week in Antigua. For a small town I thought I would get bored, but believe me, there's a lot to see and do. It's a gorgeous town all around.

Beautiful and relaxing small city with lots of dinning options and beautiful views. Wear tennis shoes to walk on most cobblestone streets.
"Superb. My only recommendation would be for the breakfasts to start a little earlier - they start at the hotel at 7:30, which is a bit late considering many of the guests have excursions that start at that time or even earlier. "
"The property is absolutely stunning and perfectly captures the charm of Antigua. I was lucky to be given Room 15, the only one with a private balcony overlooking the street, with Volcán Pacaya visible to the left. Waking up to such a beautiful morning view is unbeatable. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, making the entire experience amazing. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Antigua."
"This is the most welcoming Hotel I've ever visited. In the many countries that I've stayed, I'd never experienced something like this. Simply beautiful: amenities, delicious food, the room, the pools, the museums... Wow such an indescribable experience. I wish we had expended more time over there but will definitely be back for more"
