Beautiful town, nice restaurants in down time area. It's a compact place where everything is close. People are friendly and the weather is unbelievable, always temperate. It's also quite Close to pismo beach and rancho arroyo. Nothing to disappoint

Safe, quiet, and friendly town. People around are very friendly and amicable. Old town setting in downtown San Luis Obispo. People care about their culture and history. Cal Poly SLO was nearby as well. Lot of museums and places to eat. Great!

Absolute Great time in SLO. Great Food, Entertainment and some of the locals are the salt of the earth! I only supported locally owned businesses and restaurants and it was very easy to do. Don't change San Luis Obispo! Cheers!

We went downtown and enjoyed some dark beers at Antigua Brewing Company, then stopped at Geno's Pizza. Both were great! Also checked out the Cal Poky campus the next day.

We live nearby for 6 years and return for a vacation several times a year. Downtown SLO is a fun, walkable place. Wineries in Paso are always on our agenda.

"Best value for your money. We loved the place. Great staff, grilled food every night, free wine and beer for 2 hours every night. Rooms were large and clean. Pets allowed. Pool and hot tub. Was very impressed with the place "
"It had always been my dream to stay at the Madonna Inn & it didn't disappoint! Our room was wondering kitschy and garishly colored. After looking extensively at the different themes, we opted for one of the ones with it's own viewing tower. The view was cool from the little tower (though the temperature was not!), the spiral staircase was whimsical, and the light filtering down in the morning was quite lovely. Other noteworthy things:
- the shower pressure was great
- there was a bidet built into the toilet (I was too scared to use it, though)
- the room did smell a bit like cleaning products, which on the one hand is good, but on the other was occasionally overwhelming.
- robes were super soft.
- towels were pretty rough/utilitarian
- bed was ok, but not great.
- overhead lighting was super bright - some way on a dimmer, but not all, and the swimming was inconsistent.
- oddly, the lighting near the bed was controlled near the door, which was inconvenient.
- the hallway outside the rooms was a bit dingy.
- conditioner bottle was missing the internal straw thing that allowed you to pump it.
- there was parking right near our room, which was on the 4th floor.
- down in the main building, the gift shops were full of fun things to look at & buy.
- the restaurants had a lot on offer & delicious steaks.
- the drinks at the bar were pretty heavy pours.
Overall, a really fun experience!
