The town has a fun lights display for Christmas, all along the river. We ate at Peggy's Pizza and visited the Oakland Plantation, which is part of the National Historic site. Very interesting slice of history.

Natchitoches was great. We go twice a year to see the Steel Magnolia tour with Miss Barbara when it is warm and fireworks at Christmas. Mayeux's food is phenominal.

.mNatchitoches is the oldest settlement in the Louisiana Purchase. Lots of things to do, but it may take a little research. My mom was from a little town nearby and I lived in Natchitoches as a child. The restaurant choices have greatly expanded.

Front Street is always beautiful. The hotel and event center area are welcoming and well maintained. Parking was limited at the hotel itself, and "nearby" parking was 2+ blocks away, behind other buisnesses.
