Paignton's lovely beech, shops, food outlets and pubs is a lively place. For the Air Show, on the green was the Fair, open air concerts with singers and groups. Right next door is Preston's beech, beautiful with little beech huts and it's own green

Paignton is a great place to stay to explore the wider South Devon countryside. The buses to Torquay/Brixham go every 10 minutes and go as far as Newton Abbot or Exeter. The train links are even quicker, and you take the steam train to Dartmouth

Like most seaside towns it has its noisy area, but thankfully we where away from that. Highly recommend the Harbour Inn & area to visit eat/ drink & the other bars, plus the coastal sea trip was relaxing & enjoyable couple of hours.

Paignton is a town of two halves. The beaches, promenades, harbour etc are all beautiful and offer amazing options for families or couples. The town itself is sadly in massive decline and is best to be avoided.

So much to do within 30 minute drive. Loved Cockington which was just up the road. The Pier has new machines on them, first in the UK, loved every minute
"Very clean in all areas, especially the rooms and vacuumed.
The bed was too soft, apart from that, lovely room, very spacious.
Breakfast was good, lots on offer.
Short walking distance to/from train and bus station
Would recommend and would stay afain"
"Beautiful hotel on sea front was close to the pier and other attractions such as Paignton zoo, variety of pubs and restaurants for dining. Overall a great experience for the kids and convenient for the parents or any couple wanting a sea side holiday. "
"Lovely hotel, nice sized room, nice sized bar with lounge area and pool table, central location close to town centre, harbour and pier, lovely indoor pool, staff really friendly and helpful, evening entertainment as well, really good value for money, i will book again at some point in the near future but will make sure im not staying right next to the lift as its noisy up until 12am and again from about 6am the following morning."
"Nice comfortable hotel with pleasant staff , gorgeous view ,close to town center, seafront position has easy access to the beach and harbour with many pubs and restaurants and activities along the seafront."
"Arrived and greeted by the most incredibly kind staff. They really couldnt have given us any more to make us feel welcome. Want to give a huge thanks to Robin on reception. My husband has a neck injury and the staff even offered to get pain medications from the local Pharmacist for us.
The food in 1881 resturant within the grand hotel was delicious and served by Felix. What a kind gentleman he was also. Even making my young boy happy by giving him free mocktails!
Both inside and outsoor pools area great addition to our stay, the breakfast is tasty and always left each morning with full bellies. We will definitely be coming back. We were so sad to leave today. Thank you all for a wonderful stay "
"We had a very comfortable stay at the hotel and were impressed with the facilities and friendly staff. We returned for the 2nd time having also enjoyed our first stay. Love the views of Torbay and the internal architecture and furnishings of the hotel. It was a shame that the outdoor pool was closed but enjoyed the indoor pool / spa facilities."
