Very nice hotel. Great location in central Valletta. Most of the staff is excellent, knowledgeable and helpful. Good amenities. Couldn't check in when we got there, so we left our bags and toured the city. When we returned, the room was ready and the bags had already been brought up.
Very happy about our stay at San Karlu Hotel. The rooms were spacious and modern with all amenities. The breakfast was outstanding and the employees were great. The hotel was centrally located surrounded by historic buildings and great restaurants.
Staff was welcoming and suggested where to go during check in. Felt safe walking to the hotel in the evening. Stunning view also! I would stay here again .

The location is superior to explore Valetta and mainland Malta. It is close enough to the attractions to be an easy walk, and far enough to be quiet. It is not far from the bus terminal, so getting to others parts of the island is a breeze.
The rooms were very clean and recently refurbished. Minor complaints: maid service did not bring new soap (important in Covid 19); shower door did not have a tight seal, so water was all over the floor.

Only negative during the week long stay - Saturday night was very busy/ noisy in the surrounding area around St.Julian’s but rest of week was much quieter. The apartment I was offered was very nice, very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The apartment was just a few steps away from a hotel in a new building. I had a lot of space to spread out and relax. The apartment offered all the amenities I needed, such as a fully stocked kitchen, air conditioning in both the living room and in the bedroom, a washer, and fast WiFi. José at the front desk went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Jose answered all of our questions and offered options to EVERYTHING we asked about. He even arranged transportation to the airport and packed us food.
Location was perfect walking distance to the night life . Make sure you stop for breakfast in the morning and please talk to Michael. He’s a wealth of knowledge of the island. Give him four minutes of your time every day and he knows the dues and don’ts this guy is definitely an asset to the hotel. He made our trip much better by guiding us where to go and we’re not to thanks again Michael we will be back.
The staff at this hotel has been absolutely wonderful. We were here for three days when unfortunately the weather was terrible, so we were so lucky to have indoor amenities like the pool and spa as well as multiple restaurant options to choose from.
