Quiet, residential neighborhood in walking distance (5 min) from 2 metro stations making it easy to visit other parts of the city. The entry is unassuming - just a door and glass windows to see the lobby, no big sign but the name is printed on the big windows looking into the lobby. Sometimes we were standing right in front of it and my husband didn’t know we were ‘home’ Plenty of great little cafes, restaurants across the street and in the neighborhood. After 5 locals will be eating outside while their kids play in the courtyards and open spaces. It seems like a safe, comfortable working class neighborhood with lots of families. We were able to check in about an hour early so I won’t complain that the room (bathroom) was not spotlessly clean - the decor is in whites so every speck of dust is noticeable. Towels and linens very clean. The A/C was amazing in our room, it oscillated to feel air movement without freezing us to death. Bed was super comfortable, had a big TV. We were there mostly to relax and sleep between exhausting travel days, it was perfect. We did venture out to La Rambla and Sagrada Família by metro. Otherwise stayed in the hotel/ neighborhood. If you need a comfortable bed and room to sleep off jet lag and leisurely sightseeing - it is a great, affordable choice. Loved the location and the hotel as a home base during our stay. We used cabs for airport and port transportation, about 25€ per trip.

I found the hotel conveniently located for a convention at the Fira Gran. I was able to walk to the convention center in about 25 minutes and it was fairly convenient to take the metro to some of the sights. There a re plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby and there is a mini fridge in the hotel. I found it very clean and the staff are friendly. The walls are a bit thin and it's possible to hear other guests but the rooms are quite spacious.There was a problem with the drain in my room that resulted in a bad smell during my stay but I don't think this is a regular issue. Overall, it was very good value for the money. While I prefer to be closer to the center of the city for sight seeing and historical charm, it's less crowded with tourists and more calm around the Serennia.

When booking this hotel I saw the amazing reviews and was confident in my choice to book here. Upon arrival they were not open yet. They open at 8am and close at 5pm. I found it very strange that there wasn’t someone at the front desk at all times especially if there was an emergency. My mother and I stayed here and there was only one water bottle in the room when I went to the front to ask for another they said they were out. After that I noticed that there wasn’t Kleenex in the room so I went up front and asked and they said they didn’t have any. When I was taking a shower I noticed black mold in the shower and also in the air conditioning vent. After seeing this I looked around the rest of the room and there were dark ring marks from drinks that when I tried to clean came off easily. I also noticed long black hairs on the bedding and on the tables. I’m a red head and my mother has gray hair that is very short so I know the hair wasn’t ours. I have pictures that I took but am unable to post them here. One thing I will say is the bed was very comfortable and I liked that they had Netflix in the room especially since we’re from the US. We will not be booking here again and I’m really surprised by all the positive reviews. On our trip to Barcelona we stayed at two hotels and the others were much different. My feedback would be to do a thorough cleaning of all rooms and to also have basic amenities available such as waters to purchase.

Was skeptical when i booked as i saw it only has a 2 star rating. But when i checked into the room, it was clean, spacious and nice. The neighbourhood was more of a residential area but it felt safe with families and kids running around. The receptionist Kathy was friendly and helpful. Thumbs up!
