Somewhat dated hotel. Very dirty with fingerprints and dirty elevators, doors, etc. Baggage staff was friendly and helpful was the only bright spot. We had arrived from our cruise too early to check in and we told them we were going to go on a hop on and off bus tour followed by a Jack the Ripper night tour and would return around 9 PM. The bell staff gave us a receipt for our baggage and we went on our way for a tour. We assumed that when the room was ready, they would bring the baggage up to the room for us. One movie turned at 9 PM theChecking in experience with horrendous. We had pre-paid for the hotel portion and had responded to email solicitations to add on additional features at a reduced rate. Specifically, a buffet breakfast for reduced price and upon arrival they claimed it wasn’t on there so they ended up charging us an additional50 pounds for a breakfast buffet that turned out to be completely terrible with very few edible items, a total waste of money.. I also had checked the box to pre-pay for a bottle of sparkling water, regular water, and a fruit platter upon arrival. after 20 minute negotiation, it was decided that they could not make a fruit platter at that point so I had to go down the block to purchase water. The bar closed early, so we also had to leave the premises to go get a cocktail across the street ... So, in summation this hotel is outdated, not maintained particularly well, needs a good sanitary cleaning and needs to be managed better
