Traditional ryokan near Sensoji

Cyashitsu ryokan is a unique property located very close to the Sensoji temple. It is small but offers everything you need.
Thomas, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The staff were very friendly and the view was excellent, right beside a large shopping area but one street over so it is relatively quiet.

A charming place with fantastic staff. Excellent breakfast, too. Great ryokan experience!

This place is a holy grail. The staff are so warm and helpful. The ryokan is beautiful. We had the onsen as well they have such a little beautiful onsen pool surrounded by trees and overlook the sky. We also had really simple and amazing breakfast before we left. 5 mins walk to the sensoji temple. Definitely will come back.

Excellent! Our first time staying at a Ryokan and the perfect way to end our trip. The staff were amazing and the open air bath that we had with our room was wonderful! Will recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be coming back.

Easily on of my most memorable and favorite places. The entire staff was so hospitable and helpful. There was impeccable service. Rooms were spotless and the charm was off the charts! This place is a true treasure.

Perfect stay.

Amazing place in the heart of Tokyo, 10 minutes walk from station and 5 minutes from one of the oldest attractions in Tokyo. Staff were truly amazing and accommodating, above and beyond! The breakfast was also very delicious, actually one of the best meals I had in Japan. The reservation bath was a treat as well, not something common in big cities. Just make sure you select the accurate number of people when you make your reservation.

We stayed here two nights for our honeymoon and it was the best experience I have ever had with a hotel. Cyashitsu Ryokan Asakusa goes above and beyond with making you feel right at home while also giving you the ability to experience traditional Japanese culture and hospitality. The breakfast was delicious, the rooms were cozy, and the outdoor bath was incredible are a long day of travel and walking. We loved this place! You won't regret staying here.

This ryokan is one of my best experiences ever in Japan, and I’ve travelled here close to 50 times in my lifetime. The staff was friendly to a level I’ve never seen anywhere before - no exaggeration. The room was small but the experience felt completely authentic. The futons were super comfortable, and the bath on top of the building was amazing at night as well as daytime. I couldn’t recommend this place any more warmly.
Jean-François, 1-night trip

My partner and I had an amazing time at Cyashitsu. I’ll give a 100/10 to all the hosts we met (Minato, Taiga, Yoko Ono, etc…) I’ll definitely stop by there my next visit in Tokyo. Thank you so much!!!
Seke, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

This ryokan was amazing! The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond to help me feel welcome, including providing me with tea and some red-bean sweet to eat upon arrival. If you stay here, definitely don't skip the breakfast! This was my favourite meal I ate in Tokyo! Whilst the rooms are on the smaller side, the minimalist approach means that this is not an issue, and added to the relaxing feel. I booked the room with the private open-air bath and this was a lovely way to end my day. Additionaly, the hotel is very close to some of the main sights in Asakusa (especially Senso-Ji temple), and the area has a much more relaxed feel to it compared to areas like Shinjuku or Shibuya. I will certaintly be booking here again for my next trip to Tokyo!

Exceptional Service, Unforgettable Stay in Asakusa

Such a wonderful experience! The staff is simply exceptional—from the warm welcome at check-in to the moment we left, when the team insisted on carrying our heavy luggage for us. My wife and I travel a lot, staying at 15+ hotels a year, mostly 5-star luxury, but this hotel and its service stand out as something truly special. If you’re in Asakusa and looking to spend a few nights, this place is absolutely memorable.
Abdullah, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

It's a nice place. But in real life, it looks much more ordinary and simpler than in the photos. In my opinion, the hotel does not correspond to the asking price in terms of its condition, location, and service.
Kirill, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

I love how close it is to the shrine if you want to walk and see it at nighttime all lit up. The private bath is perfect after a long international flight. Very quiet and peaceful experience, staff are very attentive and friendly and non obtrusive. I thought it was especially sweet that they prepared slippers for me when I came down for breakfast. Love the small size of the room personally.

The Cyashitsu Ryokan was exceptional. From the welcoming, helpful and friendly staff, to the beauty of the entire facility. We loved the room, the onsen, the dinners, the breakfast...everything was exceptional. We would highly recommend and will definitely return.
