Water park and mins to the beach. Nice beach access. Staff are very nice but facilities seems a bit dated. Breakfast buffet was ok. So far a decent beach front hotel resort. Only complain is that the breakfast buffet area are not air conditioned and feel very unpleasant dinning in sweating heat. Wish the resort can air conditioned that area too in the future. Otherwise has been a pleasant stay.

We stayed at the golden sands by shangri-la in penang 5th to 8th of july. We had a beach /pool facing room which i would strongly recommend. Rooms are spacious and clean, buffet breakfast had a wide variety of food, plenty of pool activities and areas of entertainment for kids,I would highly recommend this hotel to any type of visitor

Disappointing

Usually stay elsewhere in the area but decided to try this hotel foe a change. Dirty, outdated rooms. Bathroom had paint flakes falling from ceiling. Service on arrival was very slow. Tried to use the gym twice but overrun with children under 8 years old, although clearly states no under 16’s on the door. When I complained I was made to feel like I was the one causing a problem. Will not stay here again. Definitely back to Park Royal.
