The Fox is an excellent B&B with attached first class dining. The staff were great about our late arrival due to M3 closure, phoning to get our breakfast order and being prepared to leave a key for us. Breakfast is one of the best in Winchester.

A very friendly Fox…

This is a gem! The room was uber comfortable and well equipped; towels and toiletries were great quality. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious at both dinner and breakfast. We will definitely return.

Fantastic place. Lucky enough to find The Fox after being let down by The Running Horse and were delighted. All the staff particularly Annie & Liz (at breakfast hope I got the right name) were absolutely brilliant. The room was superb - huge, every possible convenience & spotlessly clean. Both bedroom & bathroom beautifully decorated; great bath & shower. Sadly didn’t have dinner as had reservations elsewhere but judging by breakfast it would have been very good. Definitely returning and can’t recommend highly enough

Very Disappointing Breakfast

The Fox was a lovely place to stay while visiting family. The meal that we had on the first night was extremely good, and we had been told that the breakfast was going to be just as good. Unfortunately this was not the case. My husband had the full English, but the black sausage was so dried out that when he put his fork in it it broke into tiny pieces (inedible). The bacon wasn't much better. The hash brown and the mushrooms were ok. However, he was asked how he would like his egg, which did come sunny side up, but was rock hard! I had poached eggs with salmon and the poached eggs were just as solid. This was a great disappointment after being told how good it was going to be. Definitely not worth £25.

This was a lucky find. More an inn with rooms than a full-on hotel. Everything about this place is quiet quality. Lovely staff, good food and service and very reasonable rates. A great location too with plenty of lovely gardens and villages to visit. We will definitely be back.
