My trip got off to a rough start... I checked in at 11pm just to find out they gave my room away.. They finally gave me a new room (409) and when I went up to it, someone was in it.. so I went back down and was assigned a new room. When I was headed to my room, there was a man that followed me onto the elevator and said he was on 6.. He then proceeded to get off on my floor (3), which left me feeling VERY uneasy. I had to confront him and tell him to get back on the elevator.. After I got to my room I called the front desk to see if they recognized the guy but they did not. I told the front desk my experience and that I really didn't feel comfortable staying there the additional 2 days I had booked. The front desk said they would do a security walk (don't actually know if they did or not) reassured me that in the morning I could talk to the GM and receive compensation. All she did was apologize for my experience and offer me Hilton points.... I paid $400 to feel scared the entire time that they just let anyone into the hotel and give room keys away to your room... Oh and in the morning, I got to listen to construction workers talking inappropriately about women over breakfast... Needless to say I got very little rest (sleeping with 1 eye open and blocking the door with a chair). I WILL NOT be staying here ever again and DO NOT recommend you stay here either (especially if you are a woman traveling alone...)
