Great location but slightly dated

Charming hotel but needs some work to improve it. Low water pressure in the showers. The staff are friendly and the hotel breakfast is good if you like Italian breakfasts. Location is perfect right next to the tower.

Lack of fresh air

Extremelly lack of fresh air in the rooms. There is no ventilation in the rooms unless you open up the "balcony door" (there is no balcony), but doing that let a lot of mosquitoes getting in and really ruined my body. Except for that (huge problem) everything was very good.

Great location - rooms need tlc

The hotel is in a very central location with views of the leaning tower - it’s great to be able to walk around the key areas straight from the hotel. However - I’m not sure 4* is a fair reflection. The rooms and public areas are badly in need of an upgrades. Another point to consider is that driving into the hotel is a nightmare - avoid! We had a place in the car garage at the hotel which they helped us to find (very kindly)- but was very tight and the roads are to be avoided. We also had to leave our hire car key with reception in case they needed to move the car - which we were not happy about.

Alright; not great

Around the corner the leaning tower of Pisa. We booked the hotel for the great view from the terrace, not knowing that the terrace is closed until mid-April. The weather was great though, so the hotel could have put seats there for guests to sit on, even if they were not serving food or drinks. Otherwise the rooms are dated, beds hard and the bathroom smelt of urine. Lot of noise from the street, especially what sounded like recycling/rubbish vans in the early morning. Breakfast was good with a variety of cold options with boiled egg, bacon, sausages & scrambled eggs as hot options. Dinner choices nearby are very touristy.

Hotel is superbly situated for the tower. Hotel is exceptionally clean with a comfortable bed. Staff helpful. Breakfast very nice. Only downside was that the room was tired with ill fitting internal and cupboard doors. Also tea making facilities would be appreciated. Would recommend the hotel.

Lovely hotel, disappointing service

We were really looking forward to staying at this hotel & the only word I can use is, disappointing. Apart from the gentleman on reception when wewere leaving(sorry didn't get the name), the service was below what we expect from a hotel whatever the rating. Made to feel like second class guests. Even though no coffee making facilities in the room, we almost had to 'beg' for a coffee after a long journey. The barman seemed very reluctant to serve us, when the bar opened, because he was busy with a group. The rooftop bar & restaurant were closed (no warning on the site) and to top it off, when we were sitting there enjoying a last hour in Pisa, we were unceremoniously 'moved on' by an officious member of staff, because he had a video crew who took priority over guests! So, although the rooms were lovely, the breakfasts excellent, the position perfect for visiting the main tourist sites, I'm afraid the attitude of the staff (again not all) let the hotel down.

Poor service

We waited approximately 45 minutes to get a drink at the bar for a nightcap, there was one bar man who was tending a function in the big room which was obviously the priority over hotel guests. The bar man basically ignored us and the 2 reception staff were unhelpful. We eventually left the hotel and went back out for a nightcap!

Affordable and convenient hotel!

Great location, right on the edge of the main grounds for the tower, clean hotel, a little dated, but still a pleasant stay, lots of dining options nearby. Priced well and very convenient spot.
