I will tell my friends and family to stay at this property. Wonderful owners that really make you feel as if you’re home. They decorated the house amazingly with little touches you’ll have to book and see for yourself. Breakfast was delicious and conversations with others made for a great time.

Feels Like Home!!

What an amazing place, ran by an amazing couple Laurie and Terry!! This was our first B&B ever. I will say it will be hard to top when you've been to the best. The decor is amazing, breakfast delicious....and the friendliness factor here is wonderful. We are wanting to return soon and stay longer. I give this place 5 BIG stars!

So many wonderful amenities and a delicious breakfast to boot! Just a few blocks from shops and night life. Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expections!

Creative Flair & Fun

I booked Secrets on Main to treat my fiancé during his first trip to Michigan. We absolutely LOVED our stay and will be telling everyone about this little gem! Cheboygan was our home base for a day trip to Mackinac Island. Terry & Lori were extremely hospitable…feeding us perfectly roasted marshmallows around the evening campfire and ensuring that our unique diets were accommodated. The rooms are each so cozy and creatively decorated and the hot tub was amazing! Terry’s art is beautiful and we ended up buying several pieces for our new home! When we left, it honestly felt like we’d known them our entire life!
Julie, 2-night trip

In a word, delightful. From the moment that we walked up to the porch and were greeted by Laurie, the owner, until the parting goodbyes, were said, our stay was a pure delight. Laurie and her husband Terry, have gone to new heights to restore an old Victorian house, adding all of the contemporary requirements while maintaining the charm of a beautiful classic home. Each bedroom was decorated with a theme to match the fanciful names. Imagination took off as each room displayed it’s unique decor. Laurie kept all guests supplied with a seemingly endless offering of fresh baked cookies. Terry had candy dishes readily available to compliment his large assortment of coffees. Not to be overlooked was the fantastic breakfast that featured French toast along with eggs and sausage. Come to think of it “Delightful” does not measure up to adequately describe our happy satisfaction with Laurie and Terry.

My mom and I loved loved LOVED our stay at Secrets on Main. Laurie & Terry (the owners) are such great people, full of joy, funny, so accommodating, and so incredibly creative. I seriously left hoping that they wanted to stay in touch and that we’d be able to consistently go back in the future, in order to maintain a friendship with them. Plus, the house is just amazing. It’s historic, but completely brought back to life in such a unique and beautiful and whimsical way. I feel like if I had lived in that house for months and months I would still be discovering beautiful, interesting, cute, and quirky things all the time. All of the other guests were so fun. We all had great conversations and it just felt like a wonderful community while we were there. We only drove 20 minutes to get to the ferry in Mackinaw City, and had a beautiful ride over to Mackinac Island. Seriously, I cannot recommend this B&B and Laurie and Terry enough. I could sit here and type about how all of the standard amenities were great, such as the kitchen, WiFi, bathrooms, comfortable beds, hot tub, gorgeous porch, delicious breakfast, etc. etc. but I would much rather tell you that this B&B just makes you feel like you’ve found a home away from home that an interior designer from Disneyland may have constructed, and you’ll be surrounded by wonderful people during your stay. I can’t wait to go back.

6/10 Good

Old, historic home filled with old stuff. Problem is that the bathroom for our room was literally in the bedroom. The toilet was next to the bed with only a curtain between. Just gross.

The owners Ann and Mark were delightful and had thought of so many added conveniences! Great breakfast, treats and Mark's charcuterie boards were amazing!

Ann and Mark are great hosts. The breakfast was wonderful. Several of the other guests joined us on the front porch Saturday evening, we all sat and talked for hours, it was a wonderful experience.

Such a beautiful old home with some very unique room options. Breakfast every morning was well thought out with plenty of choices. Was very accommodating for food allergies. The tea room was beautiful and the hideaway out back was neat. Beautiful paintings and wood work offered to purchase made by owners. I would recommend to all my friends and hope to return.

Great Bed and Breakfast!

We stayed in the Truffles Room (Victorian theme). The room is lovely and very clean. Bath and Body Works products in the shower, freshly made cookies and cold carafes of filtered water to take to your room. Lots of places on the property to sit and read or talk. We sat on the front porch after dinner and enjoyed the evening. There’s a sitting room upstairs with coffee, candy, and tea. Also a separate building out back with games and seating if you want a hideaway to just hang out and an outdoor area as well. The breakfast was really good. Lots of attention to detail from the friendly hosts. The hostess, Ann, accommodated a guest’s food allergies at breakfast and the host, Mark, was very helpful too.
