The hotel was surprisingly good. A little rough on the onset but after meeting new owner he is making things really nice step by step. Quiet and comfortable sleep with a convenient store right across the road! It was a great stop over! I'd recommend it for a night or two.

The house was under refurbishment and new ownership but this did not affect my stay at all. It is well placed for trams and rail links, and main roads. I was able to travel in from Chester area and around South Manchester without going into the centre of town. Lovely walks along the Bridgewater Canal and plenty of places to get a bit of shopping nearby. Very comfortable and well furnished, reasonably priced, a welcome change from hotel chains with no individual character. Would recommend.

I visited this guesthouse a few years ago and guess it now has different owners and the star system reflects how it used to be and not how it is now. The room I stayed in was very basic, with walls and table tops covered in cork tiles. To be fair this was a compact room and it was shown as this in the photo. No bedside light, no hairdryer, a kettle where the cord just reached the plug and you had to unplug it to pour out (with your head next to the boiled kettle as you bend down). With no apparent staffing I felt uncomfortable as a solo female. I slept ok though and the location is great if you are happy with basic.

It was a lovely stay. The area is quiet and close (5-10 minutes walk) to Brooklands tram stop and a few minutes walk from shops and cafes. The area is also safe at night. The hotel owner/manager/staff are extremely friendly and kind and generous. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The shower was good and spacious. The toilet was a little cramped between the wall and the shower but otherwise the bathroom was fine. The room heating worked well. The room was cozy with carpeting and a rug. The mattress was comfortable. The TV was easy to use. There were two comfortable chairs in front of the TV and I had coffee, tea and a kettle in the room. Overall, I was very happy with the stay, the cleanliness and the service.

The cleanliness was 10 out of ten The only problem we had was we wereon the third floor without a lift My husband has a pacemaker and had just recovered from covid so his breathing was not good. We didnt like to ask for another room The owner was so good Food was excellent.

We recently stayed at a charming bed and breakfast, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere. Comfortable, attractive and convenient

Cornerstones is a lovely place to stay. The whole house is beautifully decorated in a very attractive style and I thought my room was extremely glam. Very clean and comfortable too and the shower robe was a welcome touch in my room. The purpose of my stay was to attend a 4-day conference at Manchester Metropolitan University and I used the 263 bus to travel into the city - the bus stops right outside the door and was only £2 each way!

Stayed mid-February. Parking at the back but wasn't easy to find. No onsite staff and no ring doorbell like we were lead to expect and couldn't get hold of owner initially when we arrived and only one of the 2 phone numbers on the front door is connected. We didn't have room number and key box number didn't work on any of the many key boxes, we tried them all in the freezing temperature. When we did make contact, we were given a different code number. When we did get in the lights were not working in the entrance hall or in the apartment main room, he was soon in attendance to reset the fuse box. He said he was the new owner and seemed as surprised as us that there was not fridge in the 2 bedroom apartment. Cooker not working, so lucky we had already eaten. Owner very helpful, got us electric heaters because bedroom heating not working, new toaster, glasses etc. He gave us the key to the neighbouring ground floor 1 bed apartment so we could use the fridge for our food and put the electrics back on each time they fused in our apartment, which was about 6 times over the 3 days. Owner was going to remove the advertised access to pool that we chose it for as that turned out to be pay to go to the nearest public pool! Left a list of all the issues we were aware of in the hope that they are sorted out before future guests arrive. I hope they are as it was a lovely spacious apartment that I'd love to go back to if we knew everything had been addressed.

Outstanding, from the moment i pulled up to the moment i left, the whole experience was fantastic. Arrived an hr before check in,Tony welcomed me and allowed me to check in. Booked room No 2 with en-suite. Loved the room, modern touches within a victorian shell. Room was spacious, clean & warm Even tho its located on a busy main road, you couldn't hear any traffic. Free parking located at the rear, access via garden at side of property to the front. Town centre a short walk away, with multiple stores,pubs & restaurants. Fully recommend the stay.

This property was perfect for our needs, working at a conference in the city. We arrived 9pm and left early both days, so just needed a place to sleep. Private carpark round the rear of property. Close to metro (tram) stop and an easy 20 minutes by car from the city centre (less for Salford Quays or Old Trafford). Apart from check-in we never saw anyone during our weekend stay. Host was contactable by mobile if we needed (which we didn't). Self service breakfast provided (cereals) as under new management so the kitchen was not up and running for serving breakfast. Totally silent at night, so we slept really well. Comfortable temperature all night on a very stormy wet weekend. Would definitely stay again if working an event in Manchester.

A gem!

We stayed at Cornerstones in July & when we returned in August for the final week of our trip it felt like we were returning home. It's a beautiful old victorian house on the main road in Sale. It's about 7 mins walk from a tram stop, 15 mins walk from the centre of Sale. It's beautifully furnished with oodles of character. Our room was large with 2 arm chairs & plenty of space. Tony is the most marvellous, welcoming host & makes delicious breakfasts. I'm vegetarian & I got an array of tasty meals across the week which provided a good start to the day. Highly recommended. I stayed in room 3. Car park was difficult to find when tired and received no instructions it was round the back off other roads.Unusual set up place not staffed so key in a locked box. Cons: Place very tired and in desperate need of renovations. My room itself was weird with weird origami swans glued to wall, rubbish down the radiator. Lights in bathroom only one worked and there are bathroom rugs covering the fact the floor wasn’t tiles on one half and it’s only concrete board. The shower had tikes held up with tape and the shower basin creaked when you stood on it. Weird collection of used toiletries left in the bathroom. Decor tired and damaged. Pros: responsive when I asked for milk as was only left 2 Great steady WiFi connection and a large TV. Great location. Overall would not stay in that room again others did look a lot better on the pictures but had sold out by the time I booked.
