Zimmer und Lage super. Das Frühstück macht einen guten Eindruck. Leider war wenig Personal anwesend. Buffet war ständig leer und die Tische nicht abgeräumt. Coole Pancakemaschine, jedoch leer. Saftautomat nicht in Betrieb. Dafür gab es warmen Orangensaft aus der Flasche der auch ständig leer war. Wir dachten das es nur diesen Tag so war. Beim Checkout mussten wir von anderen Gästen hören das es schon seit Tagen so wäre. Schade.....gerade als Familie freut man sich morgens auf das Frühstück.

Superfint og centralt, men lille værelse

Vi havde brug for en enkelt overnatning og til det formål var hotellet superfint. Da vi var to voksne og to børn, var værelset måske lige småt nok, men heldigvis skulle vi blot sove der og havde begrænset med baggage. Service, renlighed, tilstand mv. var i top, og morgenmadsbuffeten er stor, indbydende og varieret. Børnene kunne lave deres egne pandekager - det var selvfølgelig et hit. Hotellet ligger meget centralt tæt på en gade med en del restauranter - vi kan varmt anbefale Reinhardts im Gasthaus ved kirken.

Designer hotel with a little bit too much design..

We travelled to Leipzig for a one-nighter, and I selected the Meininger Hotel for its close proximity to the main rail station. Leave the station through the East hall, and the hotel is just one block away on the opposite side of the square. Upon arrival I was surprised that the hotel lobby and the bar and breakfast areas were a lot narrower than they look on the photos. Our hotel room, although meant to be top modern and with a slick design, felt narrow and -in my own humble opinion- had the charme of an overdesigned youth hostel. The bathroom was very good though, and the mattresses firm and comfortable. One noteworthy observation: The lobby area had an odor of sewage on both days, when we arrived and when we checked out. I am sure it’s not really the hotel’s fault as there is a big construction site nearby but to those with a sensitive nose it’s definitely a turn-off. In total, I would not stay at the hotel again, but rather look for another one of which there are plenty in the downtown area close to the rail station. On the plus side: The hop-on-hop-off sightseeing busses start just a few steps around the corner on Goethestrasse. Auerbachs Keller and all other downtown attractions are just an easy few minutes walk away.

Clean and modern room but rather in the small side, although it was probably a triple (there was a couch in the room). Small bathroom, with nice bath amenities. A bit more shower pressure would be nice. Wifi worked well. Busy reception. There was a luggage storage available. Great for one night. Very good vfm.

Die Zimmer und das Hotel sind sehr modern und sauber. Für eine Nacht war es ideal. Die Parksituation ist allerdings etwas schwierig, da das Hotel über keine eigene Tiefgarage besitzt und in der des Hotels neben an geparkt werden muss. Das ist auf Dauer sehr preisintensiv.
