Affordable and friendly option in midtown...super comfortable Queen bed. Unpretentious staff. Helpful Reception. Cool indoor/outdoor relaxing spaces. Would have been good to have recycling receptacles in the guest rooms.

I booked this for the purpose of having access to mostly everything in the city. I do believe that if you are going as a couple, you should book/upgrade to a bigger room because I made the mistake of booking a full for the two of us. To add on, you can sometimes hear other rooms through the walls because they are very close to each other, as we also made some noise as well, so a bigger room would help with keeping all preferred noise level in check. The hotel has many walkable food options, like restaurants and bars to the east, fast food options to the west, and a pharmacy option across the road. There is also a few tram options, with the green line right at 51st, blue and orange at 53rd, and the yellow at 59th, so access to any part of the entire city is within a walking distance. Overall, if you are young and kind of on a budget, want the full experience and need a place to stay at, just give the Pod a shot. Trust, you'll feel safe.

Terrible this is not a hotel. Can’t even believe how much money was spent on this place. A motel is even better than this. You don’t even have a bathroom or AC or shower in your room. Small and tight too. Worst experience I’ve ever had. Definitely not even the cheapest. One of the most expensive as well.

Stayed in solo pod. Maybe my 10th trip to this hotel. Great choice if you have a full itinerary and want a clean, safe, no-frills place to lay your head. Small sink and mirror in the room are good for getting ready. There are little lights in the room that tell you which bathrooms are open - never had to wait. Friendly staff. Quiet neighborhood. Packing some crocs or flip-flops for the bathroom/shower can be a good idea - the floor is sometimes wet from the last shower. Can also throw a towel down. Each room has ample towels.

The beds had a really bad design, right up against the wall with a ledge sticking out you are bound to hit if you move a lot in your sleep. Also at over 6 foot tall I did not fit in the bed. They were kind enough to change my room (twice) eventually to a bunk bed so I had slightly more space to work with. But this is like a self contained university dorm, or frankly, a prison cell. Dependent on room or floor you might get a nice view of New York, might face a wall. The rooftop terrace closed too early to be of any use, the lifts are slow and busy and I had a keycard issue which had me locked out when going to use the bathroom requiring me to go all the way down to the lobby to resolve. Nicely located and cheap. Get the private double room if you’re not on a tight budget.

The windows are paper thin and I could hear everything on the street. I had the worst sleep. There was a bell going off every 15-20 min all night. They should put a ductless ac unit in instead of a window unit
