We’ve stayed at the St. Francis before. This time it seemed a bit run down. Our room was uncomfortable because the weather was warm and the building hadn’t switched from “heat” to “cool.” Opening our windows was helpful, but street noise and street lights made rest difficult. The FDAs - while very nice and attentive - were frequently absent and unavailable. The property has a nice history, reputation and location, and I hope that the owners will invest to return the guest experience to what we’ve enjoyed in the past.

Fantastic location and aesthetics. Love the valet parking and having the Secreto Bar and the Gruet Tasting Room on site was a major plus. The deluxe king rooms all face busy street though and the windows are very thin (historic, I’m sure). That made for a hard time sleeping and relaxing. We asked to be relocated to an interior room and that turned out much better but the room was much smaller.
