This hotel is a very quiet beautiful hotel. Family ran which I love! Roberto was so accommodating. He picked me up from the airport in Milan and during my stay drove me to Como and picked me up. The rest of the staff helped guide me to the walking path so I could easily get to different restaurants in Torno. The beds were super comfortable… breakfast was fantastic and the dinner was so tasty. They do not have a pool which I would have enjoyed but that’s ok. This hotel had everything we needed and more!

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Lago. The hotel is everything we were looking for, lake front with clean rooms and a friendly staff. We would have loved to stay a whole week relaxing and enjoying the beautiful lake view of Lake Como. Sylvia was very friendly at our arrival and so was the owner and his beautiful children. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Lake Como.

What an amazing place!!! Everything was absolutely perfect . The view from room took my breath away. We were treated like royalty the entire time. We were there for 3 nights. Stuff is very helpful and friendly. Had a fantastic experience. You need to have a car to get in and out or to the closest town. Parking is included. Recommending to have a breakfast with a lake view and book a room with a lake view as well.

Hotel Lago was a true gem during our Italian tour. The wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling view of the mountains and lake was spectacular! Newly constructed, the rooms were well laid out (perfect setup for our family of four), the beds comfortable, very clean, wonderful linens, etc. All great, but what set Hotel Lago apart, was the owners/staff. The family that owns and operates the hotel made us feel as if we were part of the family, while remaining professional and customer focused. (I recommend dinner at the hotel at least once!) Hotel Lago was an unexpected highlight of our trip. Highly recommend!

Unfriendly staff. The website makes you think it’s on the water and it’s a 15-20 minutes walk into town, access to the water uphill coming back. Asked for a refund and that we wouldn’t stay there. They refused. Stayed one night because we could not find another hotel and then refused to refund for 2nd night that we did not stay

We had the most disturbing experience with this hotel, with the owner precisely, for writing our truthful review on Google Maps. In our first morning, we got out of the shower, fully naked and the housekeeping barged into our room using a master key, leaving us feeling violated. We reported the incident to the front desk, but there was no follow-up or investigation. They said they were sorry but nothing could be done, which left us frustrated and upset. Upon checkout, the hotel didn’t assist with calling a taxi, and we had to use their shuttle service, which cost double what a metered taxi would have. The owner himself drove us to the train station and berated us the entire way, shouting about our review and threatening to blacklist us from hotels in Italy. He displayed blatant racism, saying, “this is Italy and not China,” despite knowing our nationality from our passports. His aggressive demeanor made us feel unsafe in the car. After we arrived, we took a photo of his license plate to report the incident to Expedia. He then confronted us, coming 1-inch close to my wife's face, demanding we delete the photo of his car plate and threatening to call the police. We felt increasingly unsafe and WE wanted to call the police. When we tried to call, he drove off. This was a traumatic experience, especially considering we entrusted the hotel with our personal information and expected to be treated with dignity and respect. Instead, we faced hostility and threats.
