Gentleman at check in was nice. The room was not great.there were long black hairs in the shower, stains all over the carpet. The night stand had coffee or soda residue all over it. The light above the mirror was out and the room looked worse for wear. The AC filter screens were filthy. We washed them in the shower before going to bed.

Nice, clean hotel. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Best hotel breakfast we’ve had in a long time. Ease of access right off interstate however it was very quiet with no noise from traffic.

The room needs a lot of updating, very poor condition. Bed was comfy and the breakfast was standard fare. Breakfast area was very clean. I did let the front desk know of the condition of the room.

We prepaid $234 for the weekend so when we got there we only needed to pay the deposit. The day of checkout I notice a charge of $180 I ask the front desk they don’t see it in there system but it’s taken out of my account. I call Expedia they contact the hotel same thing. The payment was just pending at that time . 3 days later they charged me again $230 I called back the notices all of the charges and told me tot wait 14 days to get the money back so that’s 180 +230 that I am now waiting on

In over 60 years of traveling I’ve never arrived a few minutes early for a check in and been told that they had no idea when they would have my room ready. After traveling all night I very much needed a shave shower and some rest before going to the memorial service of a friend. Setting my emotional state aside I’ve never been so disappointed by the lack of knowledge and information of a hotel desk staff.

Remedial Training Needed

The gentleman who checked me in was very nice and helpful. As well as Becky the lady who checked me out. However, there was some issues with cleanliness of the room. Which Becky was readily willing to listen as I discreetly told her because I didn't want others to hear. There was a black lady who kept yelling her name from the office that she'd tried to get a manager to come hear me. The black lady who I assumed was the manager, rudely walked out of the office and never spoke to me but acted as if I was a problem! I was trying to help them out by bringing the issues to their attention. So I left the desk and returned to my room to speak with my husband concerning the issues. I then called the front desk and thanked Becky for listening to my concerns and asked her if the black lady who I had seen earlier, brought a young man to work with her was the manager? I was told no, she's housekeeping! The same lady I encountered coming down the back pool area stairs and door with the young man and nearly hit my disabled husband and I without saying excuse me! She NEEDS REMEDIAL training! I've worked in management and customer service and this hotel is lacking in those 2 areas! A housekeeper knocked once on the door and proceeds to come in before I could even answer her! We had a late checkout of 1 p.m., so she shouldn't have been knocking on the door at 11!

There was a big delay in checking in. We were told this was due to a new system. Other than that everything else was good. The staff was very friendly, breakfast was adequate. They had a small gym that suited our needs. It was a bit noisy because of the open layout but it didn’t disrupt our sleep.The beds were comfortable and my husband and I both really liked the pillows.

Overall, the staff is excellent. Unfortunately, when we arrived the A/C in the dining room area had been out for days and finally was repaired after being there 4 days. Our room A/C worked great. Except for that, the rating was 4.5 stars.
