I honestly felt super uncomfortable from the second I walked in. I am of Latin descent and when trying to check in, I got repeatedly skipped over. I was the only person of color in the lobby. That was red flag number one. When we took the elevator up to the room, another couple shared it with us and kept staring at us very clearly like we were not welcome there. I tried not to think anything of it, but it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. After my partner and I got settled in, we wanted to grab a quick drink at the bar since both of us hadn’t seen a beach in a while. The entire walk from the building to the pool, every single guest (none POC) just stared us down like we were pariah. It was disgusting. We wound up not staying the second night because of how ludicrous that experience was. There should be a byline for this hotel stating that only certain people are welcome there. If you are of any demographic that has any melanin, there’s an embassy suites a couple buildings down also right on the beach where the experience was much, much more preferable.
