Breakfast was simple but enough for me. The only disappointment was that they ran out of brewed coffee on 2nd and 3rd morning. No extra coffee was provided and there was no instant coffee. Shower booth was good since there were some places / hooks to keep belongings during shower. Water temparature of shower would be great if it was hotter.

Awesome and amazing experience. I will definitely recommend staying here! Hostel staff was warm and welcoming upon arrival. I was by myself without my family and nervous and the staff help me so much when I needed it! I am so grateful first day in there. I had an amazing experience. I was blessed talking with the most amazing people from everywhere experiencing beautiful sites I have never seen before. The beaches bars and restaurants are walkable distance. They have social events and a nice clean kitchen! I would definitely recommend staying here with friends for a couple days experiencing life and come back to a safe and warm environment. Thank you Gaslight Hostel!!!!!!!!

The most bang for your buck, and by far the best area to stay in, gaslamp quarter had excellent dining options, walk-ability, access to public transport and the ocean, etc. Inside the hostel we felt super safe, everything's clean, orderly, and has a wonderful charm that adds to the experience, even if you just need a quick bed and shower.

Let's face it, bunk beds are not the most conducive to a good night's sleep. And you can't expect a "hotel room" experience in a hostel. But everyone on the staff was very cool, and while I would probably opt for the expense of a hotel room in the future I did enjoy the experience.
