The hotel is located in the middle of old Shrewsbury so is ideal for wandering around the town. However we arrived by car and the hotel car park is a short walk away. It is necessary to drop your bags off first and then park the car and walk back. Access to the front of the hotel is via narrow cobbled streets which can be confusing.

Very nice welcome and well cooked breakfast. Appreciate the design on the fabric of the cushions, curtains and bed protector . Great location The bath/ shower toggle doesn't function well though. Needs looking at.

Charming, quaint old hotel with excellent staff.

A very attractive, old Tudor style hotel. Great atmosphere. Absolutely charming, friendly and helpful staff. The room was smallish but adequate. Quiet and comfortable. bathroom clean. A good breakfast included. Hotel parking ( £10.00 per night) was quite a way from the hotel.

Staff were excellent both at check in and any time of the day. Breakfast was very good and the lounge area was very comfortable. The hotel is in the middle of Shrewsbury so access to all areas is very easy . Good internet access and the bedroom comfortable with a bath as well. Evening meal the restaurant was also good. Would recommend this hotel.

This was our 4th visit at this hotel- chosen originally for being close to all amenities and being an older & “ quirkier “ property- this time was our wedding anniversary and believe me they pulled out all the stops We were allocated The King James Suite ( complete with 4 poster) and there were a huge bouquet of flowers, box of chocolates and a card waiting within A truly lovely gesture The room itself appears original but the bathroom was brand new - super walk in shower with two shower heads and a really nice corner bath Outstanding 👍 Breakfast is a combination of buffet style and service A nice touch was the haddock and poached egg. The full English had some really tasty bacon and a proper pork sausage. Excellent Check in and out was a breeze and all staff were really friendly and welcoming Would we come back again? What has made this beautiful historic place so wonderful is the staff.They have made our stay so very enjoyable. They have gone above and beyond with the quality of service we received.
