Excellent location and price

Average stay at the Derwentwater hotel, the staff & location are excellent however we did feel the hotel looked tired. Also we found the bed very hard. Overall we’ve had a lovely time in the Lakes.

Very pleasant and good value

Excellent location and very peaceful. All the staff were very professional and pleasant. The room was spacious with a good sized ensuite bathroom. Having read previous reviews about the hotel we were not surprised or disappointed by the rather dated decor and bathroom. And given the good value of our stay compared to other similar venues, this was clearly factored in.

Beautiful hotel great space.

Lovely spacious hotel in beautiful grounds and good size car park. Great for visiting Keswick just a short stroll away. They hotel is huge. Breakfast was good. There is signs of age in the decor but quite adequate for an over night stay. A bit of a re fresh wouldn't go a miss but was a friendly welcoming nights stay.

If you stay here, just know that it’s an older space, but it’s also beautiful. They have a great area to gather and games to play. The property has a proper garden area with lots of places to sit. We would absolutely go back.

Great hotel and a lovely outdoor area and bar. Check in was very slow with a queue of people in the waiting room. Staff were really friendly and helpful. No AC which is a shame. Wi-Fi was good. Beds were not comfortable.
Josh, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Lovely location with nice gardens. Entrance via the conservatory gives a nice first impression. Lift was broken and the room was tired with an old water stain on the ceiling from a previous leak in the roof. Bathroom was outdated and in need of a refresh. Beds were comfortable and room was clean.

A lovely old building in a beautiful setting with views of Derwentwater and the mountains. The staff very friendly and efficient. We have stayed here several times and will again in the future. The dog was welcome too!

Just had a great stay at the Derwentwater Hotel and great staff and service. In particular a huge thanks to Ronnie and Amy who went out of their way to take time and assist us getting to a local wedding when all other taxi firms were unavailable due to storms and road closures.. Having excellent staff and friendly check in made the stay enjoyable and we will be returning to the hotel again. Fully recommend this hotel. Thanks all.
Phil, 2-night trip

Comfortable but some flaws

Decent location and fairly comfortable. However my room was not the cleanest, stain on the carpet and one of the bed sheets. The bathroom had also seen better days. Considering the price for one night, I was expecting a bigger tv in the room also. Obviously an old building so I won’t be too harsh on it but the decor was looking tired and worn out.

Great for overnight stay with dogs

Great for overnight stay with dog. All staff friendly and helpful. Hotel is dated and rooms could be cleaner however bed was comfortable and bar and dining area clean with great breakfast choice. Large enclosed gardens and 15 minute walk into Keswick from back of the hotel (off road country walk)

Lovely scenery but tired hotel

Lovely hotel, very dated and needs a refurb but for hiking trip was value for money. Beer garden was stunning and lots of grounds to walk over.
