You get what you pay for I suppose. The hotel feels very old and dirty. The elevator door is the first indicator of the poorly maintained nature of the hotel. The corridors and rooms smell and the back stairs (the way to get out to the various sides of the hotel) are clearly never vacuumed. There is a (now) chargeable laundry service in the hotel. Boy, what an effort to get that started. They like to make life difficult and I am pleased to report they have excelled in the task. The breakfast area is relatively small given the size of the hotel, but if you like eating the same food every day, then I suppose that's ok too. Having stayed in several brands of suites, I would avoid this one.

Is there a manager working at this property?

Tried to check in at 4:00 pm. Line of people including lady in front of me waiting for 1/2 an hour or more. Decided to go have dinner off property and come back. Issues were rooms not cleaned. Poor lady at front desk and ZERO managers on the property. Finally got a room at 11pm. Have tried to get a partial credit for my room based on hours I actually stayed there Except no one answers the phone on the property. Corporate offered me 15,000 frequent stay points. As this was my first time in a long time staying at these properties, why would i join a frequent stay program??? BTW: No towels in the room so i used the bed cover to dry off after a shower in the early am.
Bed cover I had to use as a towel.

Friendly staff; there is a parking charge of $10. My card key didn’t work (twice) so i was given a different room. Bathrooms on check in level had no toilet paper. These two minor issues allowed staff to waive my parking fee. Breakfast was simple (turkey patties/cereal/yogurt/bagel/toast/pancakes)...but good.

Comfortable stay with a big room

We were fortunate and appreciative to get a free upgrade from a one bedroom to a two bedroom. The hotel is a little dated, but the room and beds were comfortable.

Room requested was not cleaned

Through a message i sent to the hotel a week or more before arrival, i asked if an ADA room was available due to back and balance issues. Upon arrival, the man at the check-in desk asked me if I needed the ADA room. He then said there are people who request thise rooms but dont really need them. I told him about the back and balance issues. He then said the room had not been cleaned. He also saud he sud nit know when it would be cleaned bdcayse they are shortcon help. We had no choice but to take a non-ADA room, and ge saud ge was moving us to a larger room. We truly have no idea if it was larger since we had not seen other rooms nor stayed there before. Since our reservation was for a specific time frame, one would thinkthe room woukd have been cleaned beforehand.

Don’t stay here

This was one of the worst experiences I have had and I stay in hotels a lot. The location is great, the hotel itself is pretty good, and the employees were all friendly. That is the extent of the positive reviews. I was given keys to my room only to find out they didn’t work. I went back to the desk where she fixed the keys. I went back to the assigned room and the keys worked! However, when I opened the door I quickly realized the room was already occupied. I went back to the desk and the lady was shocked saying it didn’t show anyone in that room. She gave me a new room. I went back up opened the door to that room only to realize I was given a single king rather than a two bedroom suite (I have 6 kids, a one king room isn’t going to cut it). I caught her in the hall on her way to check the first room she had no clue was occupied. I told her she gave me the wrong room. She told me I booked a single room king. I showed her my confirmation for my two room suite (the first room which was occupied was a two room suit). She argued with me but then realized she had the wrong name. I was finally given the correct room. The room was pretty clean but in one bathroom there was only a third of a roll of toilet paper and a half roll in the other with no extra toilet paper left in the room. Don’t count on breakfast they don’t restock and were out of everything both mornings. They are very understaffed and all trash cans were overflowing. I would not stay here again.

Spacious Comfort for the Family

The two bedroom suite was perfect for our family vacation. The location was safe, near restaurants and shopping, and close to San Diego Zoo Safari Park. An outdoor pool and grills were available (although we didn't use them). Booking on Hotels.com was easy. Check-in was simple. The staff was kind. And the room was as described, spacious, clean and comfortable. Would stay with Sonesta again.
