Sadly I didnt get to use the pool as it closed quite early. Staff were quite hard to find and front desk unmanned at most times and not overly helpful. Parking was very expensive

Very poor. Heating not working phone broken, room very cold.Given a very small oil heater not much use at all. Requested blankets twice! Had to go to reception! Eventually povided an extra duvet. Staff surly and did not seem to care at all. No offer of any compensation for a terrible night in this place.

When something is not right the manager responds 'that's the policy' The carpets a threadbare, though fairly clean. The room was spacious, but lacked amenities. The bed was comfortable, insufficient normal tea ( plenty of camomile). No phone to call reception when the fire alarm went off repeatedly - in a tower block giving nightmares of Grenfell- it was 2am,when called from our mobile reception was unobtainable the first 15 minutes then said just stay in your room. We were sent an email stating they had an arrangement with the NCP for equal fees when unable to park in the hotel carpark- it's a lie all staff and manager deny this policy. Food is average. Pillars in town is far superior, home cooking and a great team to observe. The manager was not responsive and put up barriers to all suggestions. Generally pretended language was the barrier. Pity about how poorly it has declined Holland House was an impressive brand but this group, who now run it, are driving it into something like a spacious transit hostel. Ive stayed in friendlier Youth Hostels. I wouldn't recommend this place. The constant traffic and thumping rail bridge noise didn't help.

Room was ok, the overwhelming smell from the staff member smoking weed in the underground car park was not the best first impression. The smell lingered in the lift shaft for some time. Heating in room does not work so had some random heater splattered about the place. Room Was ok

Poor check-in experience. The person who checked me in barely said anything to me except to charge me for parking. I must have stood there for nearly a minute while it was “click, click, click” on the computer, with no indication whether he had found my booking or anything. I was very unimpressed by it all. This created a negative impression of the entire hotel from the outset. Very poor, and not what I would have expected from an establishment of your alleged calibre. The room was very cold and there was no central heating, only two plug-in radiators that did not seem to do very much. One of the bedside lights was simply not there (quite annoying when you want to read and you are on that side of the bed). The parking was another annoyance. The fact that it costs £24 per day is not made overly prominent on Hotels.com, and I felt a bit misled about it.

This is a decent hotel, a short walk from the city centre. I had a premium room which was reasonably priced. What isn’t reasonable in any way, shape or form is £24 for overnight parking. If this was more obviously marked on Hotels.com, I would have booked somewhere else - instead I have to explain to my work why I paid such an extortionate amount to park my car. I would not use this hotel again while this is the cost of parking, as there is no valid reason I can give to my employer

Staff were very efficient and friendly. Room was very clean but a little dated with cracks on the bathroom floor tiles. We were 3 adults and had a very spacious room on the 8th floor. We parked at the hotel and it is worth mentioning that the fee is £24 and not £21 as advertised. The public areas are lovely and modern. Breakfast was plentiful.
