Let's start with the positives: this was originally built as a Fairfield Inn property, so the plan, layout and design features are quite nice. Our room was spacious and clean with a good bed. There's a pool (maybe two pools?), a laundry room and several other nice touches which lower-priced properties usually lack. The location is as good as any place in Albuquerque is and the price here is definitely the lowest in town for a similarly-built hotel.
Now the negatives: this property needs so much work. It has become shabby. Our A/C didn't even begin to do the job. (To clarify, it would begin by throwing out cold air, but after a few minutes, it would just pour tepid air into the room. We could trick it into cooling again by turning the temperature control down for a couple of minutes and then back up again. But of course, we couldn't man the station while we slept. The result was an uncomfortably warm room all night with restless sleep.) The electrical outlets on the desk lamp connected with my chargers part of the time, but not all the time. The WiFi was so bad that I never was able to get into it. My husband succeeded in getting his phone to connect after many tries, but the connection kept cutting out. Both of us finally just gave up trying to use the WiFi.
None of these flaws is life-threatening, but they do explain the low price. Just know that going in.
