We stayed at Casa Roland overnight flying in late at night (2:30am). The main door was closed but upon being able to call the hotel, the receptionist was prompt in letting us in at the hotel. The decor of the hotel is ultra unique and is definitely a Commemoration to the Costa Rican history and culture. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel and it's vicinity to the airport was very much appreciated.

Wonderful stay at Hotel Casa Roland

We had a wonderful experience at the Hotel Casa Roland. The interior architecture and decor was very charming and luxurious. The staff were quite helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was beautifully prepared and very prompt. We really enjoyed our time here.

Quaint hotel, friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious! Very easy to travel via uber. Make sure to read in hotel description that there is no elevator and all rooms require climbing or descending stairs.

Séjour agréable dans cet hôtel Le personnel est très sympathique et serviable La configuration de l’hôtel est assez particulière avec beaucoup d’escaliers qui montent et qui descendent, ce qui ne facilite pas le transport des valises. Notre chambre n’avait aucune fenêtre sur l’extérieur mais on entendait malgré tout assez distinctement les bruits du couloir. Le petit déjeuner était très bon mais la salle étant petite il nous a fallu patienter avant de pouvoir y accéder.

This hotel was not what we were expecting! We stayed only one night, after landing in San Jose. The building is truly beautiful inside, with lots of artwork and different photo ops. There are some restaurants within walking distance - making super easy. Their breakfast in the morning was delicious! The whole building was spotless, so clean the floors sometimes squeaked! We had a room that the window went into some hallway of sort, to nothing, instead of seeing outdoors. Otherwise the room was great. The heat pump kept the room comfortable. This was not a typical hotel layout that we’re used to (Canadians). The hallways went up and down and spiralled and was a little confusing to get used to, but once you figured it out it was fine. We never had a chance to use the shared kitchen by our room, but it had a propane stove, fridges, and just about anything you might need to cook yourself. The many sitting/living rooms were nice too. There were also spa services and a bar that we didn’t have time to take advantage of. We would’ve been happy to spend a few more days here!
