10/10 Exceptional

Small cute hotel convenient to the college great for a inexpensive place to stay. Staff super friendly.

2/10 Poor

The key was left "under the mat" !! The room was 46 degrees. Took over 3 hours to heat up. Had to go and buy a blanket. Wallpaper was peeling in several areas. Paint was peeling in the tub. Bathroom sink was NOT attached to the wall. Room was to sleep 3 - NOT... 1 bed. In 4 days, NEVER saw a staff person on property. The phone number went to a lady's PERSONAL phone. 716-353-1981 The TV was hard to watch, with all the wifi buffering going on. Poor lighting in main room. Very poor lighting on the signage. Missed it several times when heading back at night. Website says there is an eatery on site....NOPE. An ice cream shop and a car shop. In 45 years of traveling... most likely the worst stay ever.

Wonderful place

I loved my room really nice comfortable bed parked right in front. Enjoyed sitting outside my room as the sun went down. There's a little ice cream place next door. With a few options for snacks and sandwiches. I went straight for the turtle sundae yummy

8/10 Very good

Very nice lady that ran the hotel! Great price and clean room. Shower needs to be painted. It would be nice if rooms had irons and more counter space. Very convenient location to the college we were visiting! Comfortable beds and nice outside decor. Overall a nice experience! Will recommend to friends!

Run down seen better days

Room was musty and beds had small spiders in the sheets and pillowcases. No curtain in window had to use a towel.

Forecasted weather for the following day caused us to change plans so we left the motel in early evening and went home instead of staying overnight.

The room stunk with air freshener to cover up general odors. The carpet was stained in several places and the tub was peeling paint.

Rug had lot of stains, no goid lighting, bathroom door did not close, tub was peeling & the smell was overpowering, like cheap perfume!

We chose this inn for its proximity to Houghton College. Very disappointed in our stay. Room was very dirty and dated. We found 2 different pills on the floor, so I assume it hasn't been vacuumed. Walls are paper thin and we could hear every single word the people next said. Heater makes a loud clicking noise every time it comes on, which woke us up every hour. Definitely won't be staying again.

Honest Review

Sheets and room had a very strong perfume detergent smell that instantly stuffed up my nose and made it difficult to sleep. I requested an iron to de-wrinkle my tux for a wedding and was told they were in the office but no one would be coming on site to get me one. Many cobwebs found in room and bathroom.

No one was available for check in had to call a number. Key is under the mat!? In this day of dangerous situation is this really a good idea.....I don't think so. No hot water booked a room with 2 double beds got a room with one double and a twin. Not acceptable when I tried to call and ask for a room with what I booked no answer. Better must be done!!! Very disappointed in the place and Expedia where I booked through.

Emergency Booking, No One Around, No Refund

We booked a night to get off the road during a snowstorm. The driveway had not been plowed and we drove past the Inn because we couldn't see the driveway entrance. We turned around and when we got out, there was no one there. The door to the office was locked and the lights were out. We called to cancel and even the rep from Hotels.com couldn't get the owner to answer the phone. No refund. I have no pictures to upload or comments about anything else because we never got a room.

Avoid

One star for a firm matress. No cleaning next day, no new cups for little coffee maker. No trash emptied. Did leave clean towels. Left note on bed for cups please. When back in evening they had not been in room. Called, told to go next door to ice crram shop, lady said she would come over with towels when she could but had a customer, like I'm not? Called motel lady who condesendingly lectured me that they only do towels and enter room every other day "like the big chains do". Extremely poor attitude, on the "avoid at all cost" list.

Smelly

Check-in was easy. Everything else was atrocious. The bad smell of the room hit me as soon as I walked in. The room was extremely small. The bathroom was nasty especially the tub and shower curtain. The floor felt gross walking on it (like it haven’t been clean in months. The tv would not turned on once I found the remote. You think as a day-inn or whatever that was they’d have WiFi (nooo) I had no signal whatsoever, just terrible. The little amenities that were in the bathroom were half empty, the bed and the pillow were stain and smell bad. I felt gross out just being there. I booked a stay for 2 nights but after seeing the atrocity I left the next day!

Cute updated room. It was clean and inviting. I called ahead to ask about an early check-in due to time of the wedding and they were accommodating. We were there for a wedding in the area so didn't visit long, but would stay there again in the future.

Shower was hard to control temperature wise. Little musty smell. Ok for what we needed.

Great little place

Small, quaint, comfortable, clean motel. The little touches of plenty of coffee/tea and snacks (which we didn’t take) was thoughtful and kind. Thank you

Bad experience

Shower was old and inoperable with tub paint peeling everywhere. Otherwise cleanliness seemed OK. Obviously not well maintained rooms. We just stayed for as little time as we could and left early in the morning. We will never stay here again.

Room is of much needed updates. Wallpaper peeling from walls, bathtub paint flaking, just minor changes would help elevate the room. Owners were super nice!
