Met my expectations

Nice property, clean, good breakfast

It was fine. The king suite was a good size. However. A fire alarm went off at 5 am and didn’t stop until 5:28 am. It was extremely disruptive and a bummer since we only had a one night stay.

Disappointed at Homewood Suites Hartford Downtown

Hotels.com listed suites that have 2 beds in one room, with sofa bed in the other room. When we arrived, they informed us the hotel did not have any such rooms, only rooms with 1 King bed or the alternative was a 2-bedroom suite. We needed that so they upgraded us, thankfully. Unfortunately, our suite was not very clean and one bathroom had not been thoroughly cleaned at all - toothpaste still in the sink, hairs on the floor, some gross looking spots and stains on the walls, carpeting in one room had crumbs all over. The windows were filthy. It was extremely noisy outside at night, probably due to the pub nextdoor. Rowdy drunks howling at night, loud trucks driving by, etc. Very unpleasant compared to other Homewood Suites we have stayed in (Clinton, NY, San Diego, CA, etc.) Hotels.com needs to make certain the information they publish is accurate and reliable.

Our stay at the Homewood Suites in Downtown Hartford was perfect for a 1-night stay for a concert at the XL Center. The hotel is literally RIGHT next to the XL, making it super convenient for anyone attending an event there. The staff was friendly, and check-in took less than 3 minutes. On site parking for $16/night. The hotel itself is pretty outdated, but clean. Our room had a full-size fridge, kitchenette, table, couch, etc. Full suite setup. Elevators a bit small and rickety. Only ice machines on the floor (no vending/drink machines). Hallway smelled like old cigarette smoke. Perhaps stuck in the carpets and wallpaper. Hotel dining was underwhelming: no dinner service on the weekends and no hotel bar. We had trouble getting in anywhere to eat before the show, so we were going to resort to the hotel service, to no avail. Breakfast only served until 10am on the weekend as well.

King two bedroom corner suite..shower in bathroom by kitchenette-shower handle was real tight hard to turn. it would stop before getting to hot. Had to force it and felt it would break. Counter by sink very small to have room for makeup/travel bag . For how big the bathroom is I suggest putting another counter/table in there to put makeup bag in while getting ready.

Comfy and clean

The room was wonderful! Lots of space, nice little kitchen area, and I love when the sink is outside the bathroom. The bed was really comfy. Decent breakfast. Some great pubs right around the corner. Parking area isn't great but the hotel itself is really nice.

Fun in Hartford

We were in town for the weekend to meet our friends. The hotel was centrally located (we walked most places), and the staff was friendly and accommodating.

COCKROACH infested room! Previously my family booked a two night stay at the Homewood Suites by Hilton located at 338 Asylum St in downtown Hartford during the recent snow/ice storm. The first night was basically get settled in, shower and off to bed. The next day while my wife was opening a lower cabinet door she saw a very large cockroach and a second one that ran off. Immediately we called the desk and they sent a worker up who killed one of the two that were seen. Being completely grossed out and now uncomfortable we decided we no longer could remain in a room with cockroaches or a hotel for that matter. In the bad weather we drove nearly two hours home to sleep in out own bed. Hotel management did nothing to show a sincere apology. They did refund what would've the cost of the second night as they should have since we werent utilizing the room. I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM BOOKING THIS HOTEL

Front desk staff was excellent! Rooms were spacious and very clean. They were basic but had everything we needed. Even the pullout sofa was comfortable.

The hotel is old and smells like a senior citizens home. I went to get ice, the machine on my floor was broken. The machine on the next floor down had ice with black particles all over it. The shuttle driver was great! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I can't recommend this hotel for one major reason..the bar next door. The music and noise coming from them was so loud it was impossible to even attempt to sleep until it quieted down after 2:00AM. The hotel provided ear plugs but those were no help. The room was comfortable and the staff was very friendly but the noise from that bar cancelled out anything good about this hotel.

Good hotel, quite town on weekend

Clean and comfortable hotel with helpful and accomodating staff. The city of Hartford is very quite and low energy on weekend, if there’s not an event happening.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. We arrived on the Saturday before St Patrick’s day when Hartford was having their Parade. There was a bar next door that faced our window with people celebrating, the young lady at the desk saw we had young children, she upgraded us at no charge. Breakfast was really good. Great place to stay.

Fine, clean hotel in not so nice downtown.

Hotel was centrally located, all was fine with hotel, nice front desk person gave upgrade at check in. In the evening, however, the front desk person was quite rude to all guests who were coming in, including me, as she literally shoved a pizzeria menu at me (for a place that closed an hour before) - not helpful at all. Would stay again if I needed to go to Hartford.

Nice hotel.

Nice hotel, nearby to the arena. The front desk lady that greeting us was exceptionally great. The bed was just ok - have slept in better hotel room beds.
