Older hotel. Clean but in need of upgrades. Higher cost for lower quality. Cannot recommend and will shop around next time.

Great location, but beds were rock hard. Other clientele may be questionable at time.

Great locally owned and operated hotel.
It was a great stay. Very clean rooms... breakfast room was a little dated, and I was disappointed by the lack of variety in the complementary breakfast, but overall, the experience was excellent.

Descent place to catch a nap.
Quaint little motel. Could use some updates and a softer mattress, but very clean, and quiet.

Stayed there due to power outage. Was clean and OK. A bit noisy. Nice jacuzzi in this room.

Would never pay full price for this room
Hole above heater in the wall it ran constantly unless turned off . We plugged up the hole with a bath towel. For my 22 n wedding anniversary I was hoping for perfection. Oh well at least the room was clean

Main Inn & Suites
Staff is the greatest, friendly and helpful, and treat people well.
Hotel is very good value, fair price, clean and well kept.
Older hotel recently refurbished, nice location if you are visiting in downtown.
For a low budget stay it is a great value, especially if you want to be close to downtown activity.

Nice location, plastic pillow covers gotta go
Check in and out was fine. Mattress was comfortable, water was hot and had strong pressure. Room was clean. Price was nice. So all basics were met. However...
I had to plug in 2 of 3 lamps in the room, which may sound easy but required moving bed and crawling under table (and finding that only 1 of 2 sockets under table was functional). Breakfast was poor -- please at least remove bread from the bags so guests do not have to paw into the bag. And finally, I have slept in many hotels, from high end to low, but this was the first that encased the pillows (and mattresses) in PLASTIC. Yes, there were fabric cases over the plastic, but they would slide off, and the "crunch" of plastic was always present. Even with the fabric outer covers, the pillows didn't "breathe" properly and became too warm. Management, there has to be a better solution.

Don't judge a book by its cover
The room was impeccably clean, with a refrigerator and microwave. The beds were relatively comfortable. The parking lot and exterior of the motel leave a lot to be desired and I was worried our room would reflect the way those looked. The hallway too could use a good scrubbing, as it wasn't carpet you would want to walk on with bare feet. But, once we got in the actual room, I was pleasantly surprised. The front desk clerk was very pleasant.

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary. I knew nothing about this hotel except for what I saw on-line. With fingers crossed we headed to Port Huron. Main Street is an older lodge but has been completely remodeled and is kept Super Clean! The staff was friendly and recommended local shops to fit what we were looking for. Their prices were perfect for us. This place may not be for everyone but they exceeded my expectations by far! We definitely will be back. Thank You again Main Street Lodge! :)

Black feet and a hard mattress
As soon as we arrived, we made the mistake of letting our 17-month old son run around barefoot in the room. An hour later, the soles of his feet were black. The staff was very apologetic, and steam cleaned the carpet the next day.
Also, the mattress was very hard. My wife ended up sleeping on the couch because the bed hurt her back.
The continental breakfast was quite spartan. There was bread, cereal, yogurt and cinnamon rolls. No bagels or fruit.
The layout of the room was good: we needed a suite so our son could sleep separately from us. Nowhere else in Port Huron had suites available. If you must have a suite, this hotel is your best bet, but it isn't a terrific choice otherwise.

Nice downtown hotel, very clean.
Very good experience, came in for wife's class reunion and decided to stay over at the last minute. Got one of the last rooms and it was nice. Very large room.

Comfort and convenience in a quaint & picturesque town.
The room was clean, comfortable, roomy, and affordable. Wonderful sightseeing along the big river and another river which divides the town - all in under a 5 minute walk. The hockey arena is just across the street and several pubs (incl. microbrew), restaurants, and coffee shops are within 1-3 blocks. I walked about the streets late in the evening with no worries.
