I understand you get what you pay for, but I would not return. There are fireplaces in the rooms (we asked to change our first room because the WiFi did not work at all), which makes the rooms absolutely stink of ashes and burnt fire logs. Cockroaches in the bathroom. Breakfast and staff was nice. There is nothing around and you cannot walk to the nearest restaurant as the road outside is heavily trafficked. I don’t think the photos they advertise gives a fair idea of the place. It’s very dated and not so clean.

This place is wonderful, a true relic of a simpler time. Beautiful property, with plants, birds, and a calm inviting atmosphere. The folks working are absolutely kind and hard working. The tipico breakfast was delicious and fajitas we tried one night were amazing! It is sad the city has grown around this gem! But we are so happy it is being kept up and beautiful!

If you are looking for a peaceful place up in the mountains, this is a great site and affordable. But not amenities in the hotel and around it. No refrigerator,!coffee in the room, you have to wait till 7.00 am

The hotel has beautiful gardens and the cabins were probably very nice 20 years ago. The room was ok but it looked like it was cleaned many days prior and then many bugs came in. Lots of dead bugs on the floor. The bed was ok and only a small spider under a pillow. Breakfast was good - typical Costa Rican food.

Had a stop over here to get out of San Jose on our way to Limon beaches after an eight hour flight. Pros: Nice stay, very friendly staff, comfortable bed, clean, beautiful grounds. Reasonable! Cons: not the room shown in pictures, in need of updates, musty. Food was just ok. Just happy they had the restaurant! Would I stop again? Yes!

Eine perfekte Unterkunft nach der Ankunft in Costa Rica. Der Nachtwächter hilft beim Check in, wenn man spät ankommt. Der Garten ist sehr schön und das Frühstück ist gut. Das Personal ist freundlich und herzlich. Die Zimmer sind in die Jahre gekommen, was uns allerdings nicht gestört hat.
