The kitchen was well-equipped making it easy to cook as well as there are many restaurant and convenience stores within walking distance. However, a major downside was the condition of the room, which felt dusty and not very clean. We have told the reception but there is not much changes until the end of our stay. This definitely had affected us regarding the overall comfort of the stay.

Firstly, this is a very nice hotel. The Hotel itself is at least 4-5 stars - rooms are great for families, front desk very helpful and modern clean. BUT the location is awful. It is on the wrong side of the tracks in Ikebukuro (a long walk to all the good shops) and even worse to get to the station you have to walk through Tokyo’s second largest red light district. It so seedy/full of drunk people I didn’t want my family to walk through there at night so got a taxi. If you want to stay in Ikebukuro stay on the east side of the station. A strange place to have a family friendly hotel.

My wife, our three teenage kids, and I came from Los Angeles to spend Thanksgiving in Tokyo, and we had a great stay at MIMARU Tokyo Ikebukuro. This type of room is honestly our favorite, plenty of space and super comfortable for a family of five. The location couldn’t be more convenient, with easy access to food, shopping, and transportation. The staff were incredibly patient, friendly, and really thoughtful with their help, which made our stay even better. We loved the experience so much that we already booked another stay at one of their sister hotels near Tokyo Station. Highly recommended!

This is my second stay in this hotel. We enjoy our stay at Mimaru Ikebukuro, kids are so happy, rooms are cozy and clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. During our stay, there was some Halloween theme mini games for kids to play, they quite enjoy it. ^o^
