It's an unassuming place sandwiched between a Jack-in-the-Box and a residential neighborhood, but don't let the location fool you. It's a lovely old-school motel with very clean rooms and a comfortable bed. Since it is an older place, the rooms are small, and a large person may have problems with the size of the bathroom and shower.
The courtyard, however, makes up for any lack of space. Tucked in behind the main building, the courtyard is private, quiet, and has lovingly maintained landscaping.
It's walkable to the Santa Monica waterfront, and there's access to public transportation. Plus, the Piccolo Italian restaurant just around the corner is AMAZING!
I'll certainly stay here again when I revisit Santa Monica.
