The hotel is in the perfect location. The area is quiet but a quick golf cart ride into the main town. There are markets nearby and golf cart rental available through the hotel. Definitely have dinner at Gonzalo and the Princess. All around wonderful experience and will definitely be back

Bananas about this San Pedro hotel

Super clean and large room. I had a beautiful view from my balcony. The front desk and concierge were very friendly, helpful and patient. The pool bartender, Claudia was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable about the island and fun to talk to. Would stay here again and again.

Not a top of the line resort by any means but a good value, newly renovated and clean and on the beach. There’s a sea wall so not a swimming beach,and no dining options on site, but epic sunrises and real people as guests. Snorkel tour to barrier reef pick up at their dock, and short beach walk to dining, etc Golf carts everywhere 😀

Bananas has the opportunity to be a solid spot but fell short in a number of areas - no cushions for hard plastic chairs loungers, kitchen only 1 has 1 fry pan per room, no pots, kettles, etc and no way to enter ocean from dock. The good news is there are plenty of nearby spots to grab a drink and enjoy their amenities including Victoria House and The Pool Bar inside Mahogany Bay.

The property is fine and in a decent location, but both pools are essentially kiddie pools in an enclosed courtyard and the pool bar is not near the beach. The room was nice, though we had a view of the side of another property. No restaurant on site, so we essentially slept there and spent our daytime at other resorts.

The room was small and clean and right near the beach. Perfect for what we needed. I would only recommend that a small room safe was in the room so we would not have to carry our passports on excursions and dinner.

We loved it

We did just a short overnight trip on San Pedro from our stay in Caye Caulker. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating! The property is beautiful, clean, and quiet (July). We really did not want to leave the comfort of the bed, but we got some recommendations from staff and had a wonderful beach day and meals out in town. Absolutely recommend!

There idea of a beach is a sea wall. The pool is surrounded by building with little air flow. The front desk tries to charge your card for things you didn't get. Parking was always over full. The halls were dirty. Housekeeping did very little. Sand flees in the room. I will never go back.

My husband and I had a great experience while staying at bananas on the beach. The staff was helpful and very friendly. The property appears to be new very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The pools were great as well. It was not crowded or too busy. There was a very calm and relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely return to this property. Tiffany and Alexis were great courteous and customer oriented. Security was warm and inviting and caring as well.

After finding cockroaches in our room, this was the hotel manager‘s response to me. After careful consideration of the situation, upper management has decided to refund the remainder of your stay. We hope this will give you the opportunity to find accommodations that better meet your expectations. Apparently cockroaches meet their standard!!!

Towels were great, nice bed, nice closet and kitchen with utensils and dishes. Great happy hour bartender. Lobby staff were very friendly, but did not give us copies of receipts AND our water taxi tickets! We had to scramble to get proper vouchers showing we paid and could get reticketed. We still would like complete list of expenses and receipts. Room needs two night stands and two suitcase stands, plus a chair. Pools were uninviting.

Pros: The check-in was made special with a lovely pineapple drink and all relevant areas of the form were pre-filled, which was great for me as I dislike filling out firms. The rooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable with thd most comfortable bed & pillows I have ever experienced in a hotel. Coffee/tea supplies, water, toiletries, iron iron board, dishwashing soap cloth were available. Room service came to clean the room daily. The location is within walking distance from restaurants & grocery stores. Cons: A kettle and saucepan would have been nice The toilet paper was a thin single ply - a thicker brand would have been nicer

Mediocre

The property and room were clean and the room was large with living room area, kitchen, bedroom and bath with large closet. What is called a balcony is really only a little 2x5 area to step out onto to view the building next door which is maybe 6-8ft away. You can look to the right and see a slice of beach and water. Not sure of the name of room but it was second floor side room. Staff very friendly. If you’re looking for a hotel with a lively nightlife scene, this is not the place. That was fine with me. The bar is small and closed around 6pm but there are many other options close by. My complaints are very little lighting in living area and none in kitchen. Not an issue in daytime with curtains open. Also, getting water is not easy, have to go to lobby to refill, and had to ask for coffee packets. As far as eco-friendly, housekeeping changed towels way to often if you’re the kind of person who thinks about such things. I’m sure I could have requested fewer changes but never really thought to do so. All in all, a nice place in a decent location, but not many frills.
