The were roaches in the bathroom. The walls in the shower were absolutely filthy. Drips of pain in the bathtub. The shower curtain was very dirty and on wrong side out. Towels were dingy and needed to be bleached. The guests across the hall had two fussy toddlers and two barking dogs. We will not return to that motel.

I stayed at La Quinta Inn Decatur in December, and overall the stay was okay. It does look like the hotel has been renovated, which I appreciated. That said, the cleanliness of our room was questionable. The door frame and several areas of the room looked like they needed fresh paint or touch-ups. The ceiling also appeared to have had water damage that had just been painted over. When staying in a hotel, I expect the room to feel clean, fresh, and well-maintained. Unfortunately, between the worn paint and overall condition, it felt more “lived in” than it should have. Additionally, the USB and USB-C charging ports in the room were not working, which was inconvenient. I share this feedback in hopes it helps improve the experience for future guests.
