Ok place to sleep for a night if passing through, front desk clerk is a wee bit scrambled. No continental breakfast as advertised. Confused on why it is listed as 2 separate hotels, Howard Johnson & Travel Inn. Do yourself a favour & stay at the Companion hotel with a very clean decor, friendly staff & a great breakfast.

it was terrible we look at room and left we lost our money then we had drive 5 more hours at night to thunder bay for hotel. this hole of a place should be closed people living there full time stink terrible

The man at the counter was fantastic, super sweet! He also called me to confirm our stay and that we had pets, which was fortunate because he managed to get us into one of the last pet friendly rooms :) We had our own door to the parking lot, which was super convenient. Sadly we couldn't get Netflix on the TV to work but the cable and internet was great! We were only there for a sleep anyway, so it was no biggie! Thanks for having us :)

The fridge was broken and noisy and we near everything from other room , the back of the door of bathroom was dirty in the bottom . The pillow have stain and the bottom of the sheet side the bed .

Receptionist friendly. Place is in real need of repair. Water dripping right by the door as no downspout. Despite bing non smoking could smell smoke in bathroom and bedroom I am guessing from neighbouring room! Would not recommend unless absolutely desperate. Back of hotel where we had to park had old mattress on side just not very safe feel in that area.

Basic Motel

I was looking for inexpensive and clean and that's what I got. Reviews had indicated that this motel had improved recently and compared to a stay I had there about 4 years ago when it was a Howard Johnson's the recent reviews are correct. There is a fridge and coffee maker although I didn't use them. The TV was new and a reasonable size. Bathroom was clean, toiletries very basic but enough towels and bath/shower was new. Beds were very firm but I slept better than I expected and didn't wake up sore. The heater / air conditioner unit merits my only cautionary note. It works fine but the fan, even on low is powerful and could disturb light sleepers. It was -23 C outside and not surprisingly the unit was called upon to cycle on and off frequently.
