Property is gated, with beautiful landscaping. Friendly staff in reception 24 hrs. I had 2 rooms, both of which had no hot water nor water pressure. One room also didn’t have air conditioning late at night. Pool water was not clear. I can hear the big trucks and motorcycles all day. The stay was not worth the price paid. Rooms were very small.

Nice for a quick stay

Great place. We stayed for 1 night, quiet and clean. Breakfast is traditional eggs rice/beans and fruit. Great fir a quick snack. The water in the shower varies between hit and cold but you need to either take it early in morning or later at night . We did have ants appear but we took care of it. All and all nice cozy place for a family of 5.

Loved Hotel La Rosa

We started and ended our trip to Costa Rica at hotel La Rosa. Our rental car was dropped off to us there and picked back up there, and we used their airport shuttle service. It was so easy and convenient, and I appreciated not having to drive at the airport or in San Jose. The grounds are lovely, the staff are very nice and helpful and the meals are excellent. Will definitely return! Thanks for a wonderful and convenient stay!!

Overall it was great especially for the price! Quiet and tranquil but my shower was clogged, I had to use my bug spray to get rid of the ants from the AC, and there wasn’t a way to not have housekeeping walk in on me, twice.

Wonderful little haven away from the bustling city

This little boutique hotel was absolutely perfect. Not only did it have rooms that could sleep all 6 of us, they are little individual casitas. The grounds were beautiful, and was only accessible behind a gate so we felt very safe parking and walking around the property. Pool was large and clean. Didn’t get to try breakfast as we left at 5:30am but check in was super easy and the front desk gentlemen was very kind and helpful. We did have to get another towel as they only gave us 5 but that was easy enough. Would definitely stay here again, as it’s only 15 min from SJO

Beautiful grounds and well maintained. Room was quiet. Not that far from the airport but takes a while to get there because of the roads and traffic. They have a shuttle but they charge $26 US for a pickup from the airport. Uber was $10 US.

Great place, clean, kind and beautiful

We unfortunately only had a very short time here, checked in around 10 because of flight delays and left around 630 the next morning for a jungle outing. Because of our limited time, we didn't get a chance to really enjoy the property, but we did take a quick dip in the pool and slept great. It is clean and beautiful and the check in check out was super easy. We missed their breakfast and our only disappointment was they wouldn't do a little brown bag breakfast for us. We were leaving for a rafting trip early and would have LOVED to take something with us to go. Otherwise, GREAT place in San Jose.

My room had no towels, so I had to go ask for them the next morning. This hotel looks like it used to be a lot nicer, but it looks like the new owner is not willing to spend money, so you get the feeling like it’s not as nice as before. When I came back from a day of excursion on day 2, the room was getting invaded by aunts, so I went to ask for a can of repellent, but the attendant said none was available. She graciously switched me to an adjacent room, but once again the room had no towels, so I had to ask again. I believe the blame falls on the owners, not so much on the staff, since they appear to be willing to help, but have limited to no resources.

Very quiet country like Villas, secluded, secured parking. The rooms have bunk beds which increases the bed count with larger rooms that fit up to 7. The hotel is near the animal refuge and some great local restaurants, if you are driving.

We stayed one night upon arrival at this hotel. Clean, well maintained hotel. Front desk staff very helpful. I forgot my phone at the car rental counter at San Jose airport and I can’t thank James enough for all his help in calling the necessary authorities to get my phone back. Rooms were clean, bed comfortable, bathroom amenities basic. Breakfast was good.
