Our room was in the annexe. This was noisy as there was a group of teenagers running around during the evening on the floor above. The bedroom was comfortable but dark and the bathroom was very shabby. There was mould in the shower and on the windows. The general decor was drab and outside the bedroom window was untidy with an acrow prop in view. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The cooked to order breakfast was very good. Unfortunately the standard of the room and bathroom made it a generally disappointing stay and it would be great if Greene King could invest a lot more money into this lovely, historic building.

Plenty of parking space. H&S issue, low doors into rooms with no notice to mind head, I bashed my head when going into my room. The second floor room we were in the very old window had no latch to secure it, wind kept blowing it open. Informed staff in the morning but nothing done till early evening then same day. Appreciate it's an old building but. Attention to detail.

For a basic room for one night it was fine, however I don’t think I’d stay longer. Room was spacious and clean(except the door to the bathroom, the edge where people close with their hands was black), bed and pillows comfortable, however it could do with being refurbished. Paint chipping from walls, coving, pipes and woodwork. Toilet roll holder falling off the wall, grout was turning yellow toilet seat was stained, everything just looked old. The main reception/restaurant and bar were lovely and breakfast was good value for money and plentiful, I just wasn’t impressed with the room
