This hotel is the Grand Dame of Marlborough. It's right in the centre of the High Street, and includes guest parking - as rare as hen's teeth in the town. The lovely, friendly staff here are local people, full of kindness and knowledge and they take real pride in their hotel and make time for people. Expect large, quirky rooms, comfy beds, a roomy, traditional bar and separate restaurant, ancient oak staircases, and excellent breakfast cooked to order.

Public areas were well maintained and staff were helpful and friendly. However the room and the bathroom was very dated and required renovation. There was a lack of plug sockets, amongst other things. We could not watch television and have the fan on near us (it was during the heatwave) as there was only one socket. I thought it was over priced for the condition of the room and would not stay again.

We had a warm comfy room just across from the main hotel. The staff we very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. Such a brilliant hotel for location as you are right on Marlborough high street. Good value for money and a fab stay.
