The Somerset hotel offers excellent value accommodation in London in an excellent, clean, spacious, and safe location! My family and I stayed here in mid-August and were delighted that the hotel was not only close to the Underground, groceries, shops, and amenities, but it was only a short walk to Regent's Park! Eyaz was beyond helpful and welcoming, and did everything possible to enhance our stay with his kindness, care, and professionalism. We will definitely stay here again!

Noisy, shabby... but a clean, basic room. Staff were great. View was awful. Continental breakfast promises on the notice on the door, none provided. They should probably change the notice on the door.

The room was lovely and in a great location the reception lady was the highlight though! She was an absolutely lovely American lady and looked after us amazingly… Evening buying my partner a birthday card on her birthday!! A great person being the face of the hotel.

The room was pretty clean and we got a room service anytime we want. The size of the room was bigger than any other hotel that I ever stayed in London. We had 4 luggage and we could open all of them. The building is old you need to know that, son it's not the percet condition. But the price is also low too. Coffe machine at the lobby was so helpful to us to get up in the morning. And the guy on the front desk Azam was amazing. He tried to help us with everything. Gave us good tips and ask us how are we doing everyday. Location was awesome. 15 min walking to Oxford st and bus stop is like 3 to 4 min to all locations. I would prob stay again

Good stay in Kensington

The place is conveniently located near several underground stations in the very safe, clean neighborhood. The concierge was very helpful with directions to local restaurants, navigations, etc. the only issue our group had is the complete lack of ventilation in the bathroom which is a problem for 5 people sharing the same room

Carpet awful, no kettle in room (4th fl), unsafe, no elevtaor. Bed was clean, bathroom nice but then shower tap was broken and I couldn't get hot water (just warm). Had to carry bags up 4 flights stairs. The carpet is just atrocious. No kettle tea/coffee in the room; they cost what £5? Only downstairs which is useless, and a mess there anyway. Won't stay again. Anyone can walk in so felt unsafe.

Everything was good for the price, the halls if the hotel should be renovated but they're working on it at the moment. Central London, great location, good prices, just needs to be updated. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Clean room & bathroom/shower, comfortable clean bed. Lovely old house turned into an affordable hotel. Stairways a bit tired. Excellent location for tube within central London. Friendly staff & a relaxing reception area on ground floor for coffee etc, perfect room from a bygone era!

Comfortable bed and spacious room

The bed was very comfortable and clean, the room super spacious, and the shower had excellent water pressure. Everything was very clean. Although the building itself is quite old and could really use some renovation, the location was perfect for my plans in London. There's an excellent bakery just a 2-minute walk from the hotel, Regent’s Park is only 10 minutes away, and Baker Street offers a variety of restaurants. The Sherlock Holmes Museum is also just around the corner, on the street behind the hotel. The only downside was that the price felt a bit high considering the condition of the building and I was a solo traveller.

The hotel was not clean overall. The room was dirty especially the bathroom. The key pad at the main entrance is faulty, we struggled to get in after midnight. The staff were nice. The area is nice. Shops close by and a tube station.

I would stay again

Pros: 1. Cheap 2. Close to public transport & tourism 3. Comfortable to relax in room Cons: 1. WiFi constantly disconnected 2. No amenities in room 3. Floors and walls very think and creak with every step.

Clean, which is good, but decoration half finished. A bit of a building site. Half the slats on the bed had fallen through, barely useable. Location is good though, and friendly staff.

This is an old (by US standards) building with lots of intricate details, BUT, I think they are trying to remodel/restore it, and the walls still need paint, there is duct tape on the stairs carpet inside and outside the building and the room was small. We had to go to the dark, somewhat dinghy lobby for coffee and if you needed the front desk person, you had to ring a bell. We did feel safe in this busy neighborhood with all the tube stations, coffee shops and restaurants. A 45 minute walk got us to Trafalgar Square and a 20 minute walk got us to Regents Park. Emilia's restaurant was FANTASTIC! And just around the corner

Family stay after Lords cricket

We stayed here with our two children as was heading to Lords for the cricket. Great location for that and a nice big room with two doubles but other than that this is a hotel we will not be returning too. Our room was really very tired, broken chair in room, carpets torn and held down with tape on stairs, one of the bed was so saggy it made us laugh, the bathroom was grim, toilet needed descaling, broken floor tiles, wood on edge of bath was damp and rotten, ceiling paint was peeling. It could be a wonderful hotel given some love and the staff we met were lovely.

2/10 Poor

Lovely owner and clean sheets but those are the only positives. Broken tiles in the bathroom, no soap, no glasses or tea cups no wardrobe or place to hang clothes. Torn carpet on the stairs, no answer when the on call number was rung and one of the rooms wasn't ready over an hour after check-in. This shouldn't be a hotel. If the price was halved and the place advertised as a hostel it would likely get much better reviews, especially considering the excellent location.
