We were really very pleased with our stay at Grande Kloof. From the minute we checked in to the minute we checked out, we were so pleased with the friendliness and eagreness to help and guide byvevery staff member we came across. The room was just perfect, everything worked well as we were mostly away during day time. The hotel location is really perfect as several attractions are only minutes away from the hotel. Super friendly staff. Very helpful. Breakfast was good. Great location-great view. Bed was very comfortable. An update on the decor and flooring would be nice. The floors are painted concrete-but rugs are on the floor. I believe it was good value for the price.

It is a great option if you go for vacations and need a place to go to sleep and take a shower. Room is large and confortable, but with many steps. I had some issues with the water in the shower but all of them were solved. Next time in Cape Town I am going to book here again.

Do not be deceived by the photographs on all the websites... the photos look amazing - the reality, not so much... We had booked the Sea-View Wing Suite Top Level Deluxe via Expedia... Room 306. The location and views were great. The room was pretty much the same as the photo but could definitely do with a cosmetic upgrade. The bathroom was dreadful... old and dated! The description on Expedia stated the room offered cookware/dishes/utensils/oven/stovetop/toaster - totally inaccurate - so I basically paid for something that was never there! Pleasant staff... was lovely talking to Sarah, Miriam, Ester and the two gentlemen who were at Reception overnight. The miserable rude lady who sat at the Reception Desk on the right could certainly improve on her customer service skills. Breakfast was nice, had a good selection of vegetarian choices... however the fruit/baked items were not replenished once guests before us had taken. Overall, definitely not worth the amount of money I paid. I've stayed in less expensive hotels with higher standards.

It was a reasonably priced, clean and comfortable stay. However, if you are looking for a place with atmosphere and to socialize with other travelers, it left much to be desired. Megan, the bartender, was very welcoming, hospitable and accommodating. She ensured that I had a great night that would have otherwise been a rather dull last evening in Cape Town. Keep her around!

Terrible experience, with horrible management!

Terribe experience, I booked the hotel almost three months before and for my surprise at my check-in (3PM) my room had been sold to somebody else given all hotels in the city were full. The manager, Peter, allocated my wife and I in the very small room, which didnt have a key, was extremely dirty and the bathroom flooded. He promised us to give some courtesies which has never happened and give us our original room in the following day (we were going to stay for three nights). In the following day our original room had been sold to somebody else and just in the last night we were able to get the room we had paid for. He agreed to reimburse us the amount we had paid, however this has never happened, Peter is a big liar, we even asked if the hotel would exchange ZAR to USD and he said yes, but he would need to go to an exchange house and I found out later that Peter told us a different exchange rate that had actually been. Not to mention the breakfast is terrible, the rooms dirty and the pool very disgusting!!

Beautiful Hotel and Spectacular Views

We had the pleasure of enjoying 4 nights at this beautiful property. The room was incredibly spacious and had two walls of floor-to-ceiling windows that provided exceptional views and light. It was terrific to have the attention of the hotel owner who ensured we were taken care of from check in to check out. Additionally, every staff member was top notch; professional, helpful and friendly. And we mustn't forget to mention the breakfast... a delicious way to start our days exploring beautiful Cape Town. Highly recommended.
