Wanted to love this place but it fell short of expectations. When staying in a small B&B, the host is a key part of the overall experience and things weren't great in that department - we felt like an inconvenience rather than welcome, paying guests. The room itself was a bit shabby - rusting shower fixings, broken taps, blinds far too small for the windows etc. The place just feels a bit run down overall. Breakfast was okay.

Mixed feelings about this stay. Instructions on the confirmation said to advise what time we would be arriving so that we could be sent check-in instructions and this had to be done 24 hours in advance. I tried numerous ways to contact them with no response. Just before getting on the ferry from Haida Gwaii the morning that we would be checking in we finally got a response saying "reservation confirmed" but no check-in instructions. We arrived to a note on the door saying to go in and make ourselves comfortable and to call to let them know we had arrived. I called but no answer again. She did call back but seemed annoyed by my call. The room was nice enough, fairly clean and comfortable but the spiral staircase was a bit precarious for me as I had recently had knee replacement surgery. There was another staircase on the outside of the house that we were able to use. The breakfast options were good and you could go downstairs or have room service. We chose room service mostly because of the stairs. The first morning went smoothly but the second morning we needed to get on the road by 8:30 am. We requested breakfast at 8 am but by 8:30 am it still hadn't arrived. We texted and said we had to leave. She called back and said she forgot it was room service, she seemed apologetic but she was more concerned about payment, I thought it was automatic through hotels.com but apparently it wasn't. I was able to give her my credit card by phone so it worked out.

Nice home on a cozy residential side street. I stayed in the SOUTH suite and it was enormous. And very comfy. Easy walk —easier drive of 3 minutes!—into “town” for museums, restaurants etc. (Rec’d The Crest, Dolly’s and Arabisk) Very tasty breakfast in the morning served up with Andrea’s homemade bread.

Got no breakfast, tv batteries were mostly dead, lamp and clock did not work.Host was busy which is no problem but there was no back up. Had to sleep with earplugs.

A nice, cozy clean room with comfortable bed and bunk bed. Washroom had all the items required for shower, shaving and so forth. Breakfasts were wonderful and delivered to the room.

This my first time staying at a BnB and it was a great experience. I have typically stayed in hotels and found my experience at Tall Trees BnB to be similar to home. Breakfast was made and the staff/people who I talked with were super friendly. I had arrived late on my first day and got instructions on what to do and how to order breakfast. There were plenty of trails to walk by and things to do with the dock being 10-15mins away. If you want a unique experience with a friendly/homey atmosphere, consider the Tall Tree BnB your next stay.

I spent one night at Tall Trees and Andrea facilitated my late arrival and offered 5 choices of breakfast. It was delivered to my door and was tastefully presented and the French press coffee was wonderful!

Electrical outlets, lamps and switches are not all working, and bed was quite saggy (east suite king), not great for my old back! Kitchen has been renovated nicely since I stayed some time ago. Would have been nice to be able to open sliding door to outdoor seating area, hopefully next time!
